I would love to see Oregon play Alabama.

...and lose.

I'm obviously biased, but I think the number one thing keeping FSU from the NC game is going to be their schedule. They literally don't play anybody all year. They play Clemson and Florida at home, and their toughest home game is going to be VT (which has a lot of question marks right now). I also see FSU characteristically losing a game to someone easy before the season ends, and think it'll keep them out of the picture. Over the last several years, it seems like FSU always gets caught with their pants down against an easy ACC team. There is NOTHING Miami wants more than to be that team.

We're only in week three, I think as always the picture is going to get clearer and clearer as time goes on.

The way Stanford played defense at the end should finally put the "prevent" defense to rest.

I liked in the NFL when Ryan and the Jets stopped for a brief time, before they decided to focus on bluster over just good defense. But I think NFL rules required they stop and institute the prevent so teams could make it exciting.

USC had a whole bunch of pre-season hype. Almost every college sports outlet was singing their praises. Kiffin has been ordained as a demi-God for some time. I wonder when the sports press is going to figure it out?

ND looked good on D. So did MSU on the whole but they were definetly outplayed. I still feel they are probably class of the Big10 (not that it means anything)

After they determine that they'll generate more ad revenue when they start tearing him down.
Probably after the next loss.

I think they have a collective crush. Its kind of embarrassing for them. "He's young and cute and kind of mischievous. It doesn't matter the only thing he's ever done is live off of Daddy."

Well that is not entirely true.....with a little more patience, he may have proved to be a great coach for Big Al. The Raiders were suck and that had nothing to do with him, it was on his plate. Granted his old man is a genius in his own right, but I do not think the apple is too far off. I was one of the few who liked Pete Carroll at the Pat's, he does have a good eye for talent. Coach K will be a star at USC and then be back in the NFL and do well. I do not think he did right by the Volunteers, but it is USC and it was his dream job before Big Al lured him away from the job he was being groomed for. The timing of being fired and Pete moving on were just unfortunate. I can understand why he did what he did, whether I agree it was right or not. USC will be making a lot of noise in the future. I can also understand not forgiving him for this grievance on some peoples part. He is not to be underestimated though on having his own football talent.

So where in his history as a HC has he improved a team, taken them to that next level?

he has not been anywhere long enough. he was Pete's asst, went to the disarrayed Raiders , then to TN for a year, and then to USC under sanction. Give him some time. In five years time, you will have a different opinion of him.

When he shows that he can do it consistently is the time to anoint him. Not before.

Sabin and Meyer deserve the accolades as great college coaches.

Kiffin doesn't.

Right now he's an USC QB in the NFL. Much hype, little performance.
