Suggested rides

Canaan loop: Public Road 13 Loop (start 3.1 miles south of Davis off route 32) ends in Blackwater fall SP.
Tough for a big bike but it has been done. Gravel forest rd to double track to single track. Deep water crossing.

Smoke Hole road (CR2) Blacktop : North of upper Tract off route 220 to route 55/28… 17 miles of twisties

Smith mountain road (2.5 miles west of Seneca rocks off route 33/55)…….. loop it to route 28/55.

Bemis: Bemis rd (CR22) to Beverly……….very rocky

Wymer: Sully rd (CR10) north changes names to Gladwin rd......needs more research

From the camp ground take FR-14 north to US-33.
East on US-33 to CR-31. Go east(right) on CR-31.
CR-31 changes to CR-7 in Pendleton Co.
CR-7 to left on CR-33/3 to US-33.
East(right) on US-33 to south(right) on CR-6.
CR-6 to the intersection of CR-33/4 and FR-112.

If the restaurant at the corner of CR-33/4 and US-33 is still open we will do lunch there. I will check this in April.

After lunch we go back to FR-112 and make a stop at Spruce Knob.
From Spruce Knob we take FR-112 west to FS-1 and back to the camp ground with a stop at the Sinks Of Gandy.

About 70 miles.

Here's a Garmin .gdb file of the route.

With lunch, photo ops, and the stops at Spruce Knob and the Sinks, it will probably be around a 5 hour loop.

This route should be OK on a big bike.

I'm planning to get there Wednesday morning again, so maybe I'll scout it in the afternoon.

Roughly 90% easy gravel/dirt, 10% pavement on the transfers. Some scenery at the lakes and Spruce Knob lookout, and some denser forest with twisties and sweepers. For some real food you can go straight after Buffalo Lake instead of turning left, head into Blue Grass or Monterey and head back over US250.

PS: I could make these all day.
