Hey,

Nice pics, do you have a ride report or more pics of this trip at least?

Taken this summer on a camping trip. I can hardly wait until the weather improves to do this all again.

Neat pic. I like the composition. How does it compare with seeing it in person? Do the lighter parts of the leaves, tree trunks and road appear lighter on the photo - or is that what it really looks like? HDR photograpghy is new to me.

I'm not sure if I kept the original exposures. Basically, you take a number of shots, 3 or more, changing the exposure (EV) for each shot. I think I took 3 shots, -1 EV, 0 EV, and +1 EV. The next step is to use HDR software to combine the multiple images.

Since this was the first attempt for me, I didn't pick the best composition to show off the effects of HDR.

These sample from here are a better example. You can see in the first shot the flowers (foreground) are correctly exposed, but the sky is washed out. The last shot, the sky looks good, but the flowers are too dark. Combining all three results in everything correctly exposed. More examples here.

New to me - 1993 PD

I bought this bike a year ago , from a fella in Arizona . I had it shipped up here in the winter and never met the man ...... a little different to talk to on the phone - but the bike was exactly , as he said !!!

Sadly , I have not put many miles on it !! Just rode it some after work - and a couple short rides on the weekend .

It is a very clean machine - the PO , put about 10,000 of these miles on . He was kinda vague , about where he got it !

I have a R80 G/S and a 1150 GSA .......so this bike fits nicely in between !

I like it !!

My barn find...'93 R100GS

I took this picture when I was picking it up late last year. Unfortunately, its in need of considerable TLC. It had been sitting in a damp barn and for a period, outside, for much of its life.

It appears to be in reasonable mechanical condition, although, the fluids and tires need to be changed. I'm looking forward to working on it...

BTW, does anyone have a headlight grill they are willing to part with.

Hey Ken; Congrats. on the GS/PD from Arizona. I met Renee' a few years ago while on my '95 GS/PD. I admired his '93 & thought about buying it when he put it on C/L in PHX. Timing wasn't right & I got it out of my head & wife reminded my of the 3 R100 GS/PDs & 1 R80G/S-PD already in the garage. So I passed on it. It's a very nice moto & I'm glad it got a good home in Kalispell with you.
BTW: We are orig. Montana natives (Libby, Butte, DeerLodge, etc.) now dislocated to Arizona (Hi-Desert & Mountains).
All Best regards. Ric. here is my '90 w/113k miles
