Well you need to be IN as you are most probably helping to lead us around the countryside.

Brilliant last year.

Bike details, and anyone vanning or trailering from UK

Hi Magnon

I ride with Clive, Steve, Ela and others here in the Thames Valley and have heard very good things about the trip - am really looking forward to it!

I'll be on a GSA1150, happy to tackle challenging stuff on the trails - or at least try, give up, and ride around 'em if needed.

If anyone can take a set of off-road wheels from UK, I'd be very grateful. Please pm me if you are motoring down and we'll sort it out nearer the time.

Also - does anyone planning on riding down from the UK fancy teaming up with a view to heading back via Bilbao and grabbing a couple of days in the Pyrenees too?

Thanks, Mike

Bonjour
I am interested to join this expedition. I ride a KTM690ER, and live close to Aix-en-P. I am new to such trips, and I've been riding off-road for a few months only, but will be ready for this trip (I am planning a solo trip in March to get started). Do you have room for another rider?

Christophe

This looks right up my Valley
Could you put me down for a possible.
Have to check back at work on the 4th Jan, for avail and Hols
Jas, could join up and share your transporter if you like.
990ADV BTW
Have you any idea of the costs involved etc, once we get there, and what will be the requirements etc needed to get broken me and my broken bike back to the UK if needed. Or should the normal recovery insurance cover it? Had to ask, just incase others were wondering the same!

For your bike normal recovery insurance should be fine. Recovering the bike to the nearest tarmac road might be a problem but we can generally sort it out.

For the rider - make sure you have a valid EHIC card with you. You may want to buy additional repatriation insurance if you are planning on really hurting yourself and don't like French hospital food.

Cheers as I thought the normal touring around Europe insurance. Got the nod of the wife (its a double bank holiday and the kids are of school but seeing as your fifty you can go) Now its just the work side of things next week

This is the link to the 2011 thread. Page 16 onwards shows some of the aftermath photos. It's not going to be exactly the same route this year but will still probably take in Sarlat in the Dordogne and Rocamadour in the Lot.

Can someone tell me if this trip requires to carry additional fuel, beyond the 200 km range of the regular enduro tanks? I am looking at saddle bag or soft pannier options, and I may get a rotopax as well, or invest more into a safari tank if needed. Thanks.

No, you will not need to carry more than 200km of fuel.
