For a few years I had a CZ75BD 9MM and it was a very comfortable gun to hold and shoot. You might want to look at their .45.

Actually just tonight I emailed a local dealer to check the price of a CZ75B, I think that is what I am going to get. In the research I did online I can't find any bad reviews.

"The 1911 was the design given by God to us through John M. Browning that represents the epitome of what a killing tool needs to be. It was true in 1911 and is true now."—Colonel Robert J. Coates, USMC
If price is a real big concern, You can always build your own custom 1911, aint too hard to do. However if its got the horsey on it(colt) youll never lose any money.. Try sellin a Sig or S&W 1911 for what you paid for it.

I forgot all about SIg 1911s and one of my best 1911s is a Sig 1911R Scorpion. You can find em for right at a grand if lucky.
Here's mine: ![]() It is a Sig Scorpion, and you get them for about 1100 or so.

When one wants a 1911 the CZ or any other .45acp just won't do.

Can't argue with that. My only defense is that I never sell any of my guns, just add to the collection so re-sale value is not part of the equation when I buy a gun.
