I'll be mounting them on my dr650. Not sure how or where I will install them yet, but I've got several ideas. Can't wait to get them on!

Just ordered a pair of MM12AUX as aux lights for my 02 BMW R1550GS. What is the wiring setup?
Will mount them to the small CNC bars below my turn signals.

Thanks, your lights went out this morning. Wiring is straight forward, with Red lead being "positive" and Black being "negative". If you need more info, like wiring diagram, send me a PM. Are your mounting bars custom (one of a kind?) Thanks, -Brian

Got them mounted! Not wired up yet though. I still need to finish my "brackets" which will be rounding off the corners and a coat of black paint. I used some 3/16" thick 1" wide flat stock (steel) that I had lying around to make the brackets. I cut it to length and put a slight upward bend in each piece, then drilled the appropriate sized holes and mounted them under my mirrors. Clears my windshield and keeps them out of harms way for the most part. I need to figure out what kind of switch to use now.

) from some guys that made a bunch of them from a design from yet another inmate (YBViking), who was apparently no longer making them. They replace the mounting for the turn signal lens on the GS (hollow, for signal wires) and provide a simple drop out of solid, machined aluminum, with mounting hole so lights can be attached. They can be used above or below the turn signals. I like em a lot, as they are pretty minimalist and install very easily. I've just been waiting to find a reasonably priced aux lights and yours fit the bill. I will post photos once I get them installed.http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=501746

I ended up wiring them to my high beam to eliminate the need for a switch. I tried to take some pictures of the light pattern, but my camera is about useless in the dark...
These lights throw more of a flood pattern than spot, but wow... The near useless high beam HID light on my dr650 has now turned into a retina searing flood light (for those that try and stare into them). These things have no problem at all lighting up both sides of the road for a pretty good distance. Should there be any kind of animal next to the road, you should have no problem seeing them with plenty of time to slow down. I love these things! |
