I've got two pairs of MM10s on the way, for my KLR and Goldwing.

I see people mounting the lights on the forks quite often. Wouldn't that make for a very 'shakey' light as the wheel moves with bumps on the road?

Going to mount my lights on the fairing on the KLR, and on a light bar on the Goldwing.

I had a question regarding night time use in traffic.
Since MM10 do not offer High/Low switching or dimming could they be used at night?
Have anyone had experience with night time use in normal (read crappy!) city traffic conditions?

I ordered a couple of adjustable dimmers with high-beam bypass from another vendor here on ADV. That way I can run them dimmed for traffic/low beam and full brightness for high beam. Still waiting for everything to arrive so I can see how it works.

fast install!

Hi Brian,

I thought I would post a public thanks for the quick delivery and the super-simple install of the Bullets. After I found the second mounting bracket that I had conveniently 'stored' in the snow bank, things were ready in a hurry. It took far longer to adapt a couple of angle brackets to move the lights off the fender of my F800st than it did for the rest. Lots, lots of cabling for those who need it.

They sure are flashy from out in front. I look forward to getting past the moat of melting snow and onto the streets of Edmonton in the coming weeks. Then I will be able to better assess their throw.

Mounting the lights low on the forks (or anywhere lower on the bike) is popular because it provides for greater conspicuity by creating a "triangle" of light (headlight on top) - studies have been done that imply that the triangle pattern goes a long way in helping the cagers see you. An added byproduct is that it also helps to put more light on the ground in front of you.

My experience is that unless you are on washboard, the vibration is minimal - mostly unnoticeable - and we have some fine third world quality roads in much of Michigan

In the end (like most things) its a personal choice as to where and how you mount them - I have sets up high (helps to see branches on dark trails) and down low (for reasons above) on shop bikes.

We will be soon (end of the month) be offering the Skene IQ175 Controller on our website. We have tested several and found it to be the best option for dimming/controlling the volume.

In full disclosure, I have not found a dimmer necessary with the MM10's - some have - again its a personal choice and its always good to have choices

Thanks for the quick reply Brian.

As I mentioned earlier - very interested in your MM10s /w dimming capability.
One question I had, is would be any problem to use Skene IQ175 on CanBus bikes (late BMW 800GS)?

Specifically I am interested in High/Low beam switch compatibility.
Basically I want LEDs go to 100% when High beam is engaged and return to preset dimmed output with High beam OFF.
