rt 160 west to 98 north is my route.

small cut down from Page AZ. mostly silt and dirt but the map didn't tell me that.....old map and after I learned of a paved rd. that I could have taken .... in hindsight i'm glad i didn't know of the road.

I had past some small dogs.....on the side of the road...........now goats and stuff too........... so close at high speeds so i slowed down

15 min. later some locals past by in an old 70's ford (like i like, just like my grandpa's pick up) told me no left, go straight 18 miles. Thats cool........gas gage says 39 to empty, so no problem. I didnt have a good picture but that was an intersection.

Time to start looking for a place to sleep....... I went over a bridge that had a rest area on the other side...

Directly after the bridge turn off was a lodge and restaurant that had been built after the original bridge was completed. Great place to stay, rates were reasonable too.

Looks like a fun ride. Three of us rode northern New Mexico and southern Colorado for a week last summer, some of that looks pretty familiar.

Love the 89 "A"- That bridge is awsome , that area will make you feel small in a hurry.

Never stayed at marble canyon hotel though. My dad went to school in Kanab, worked on the dam. Got some great stories

Oh, I'll bet he does. I love your area, the southwestern states. It has such diverse riding. I lived in Tucson AZ for a while in the late 90's and fell in love. The Northeast is where my family is, and I ended up back here. Dragged my wife here from Montana.... .

Grandpa was from New Hampsha (Dad was born in Maine), drug the family down to Kanab to help build the dam . Ended up in Scotsdale.

The new england area is beautiful. Amazing forests.

South west end of the Vermillion Cliffs this summer
