well, I missed 5 or 7-9 turns.... ended up at rt 24 right outside of Hankersville, but on the wrong side and not dirt.... Still probably one of my favorite days. I really like Utah..
![]() ran into this historic town, though unfortunately the direct path into town was a full wash..... like rapids. Not even sure where the water came from but it was fast. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hollow Mountain store.... ![]() I missed the recomended camp spot, so Im going to go forward instead of sideways....wait, maybe backwards....definately not upside down. South on rt.95 to Hite Marina.... not a car in sight ![]() ![]() ![]() these are time when more lights would help... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Fantastic Report! I've noticed that your bike didn't hiccup once. All the more rewarding I'm sure.

Woke up the next morning and made some coffee, and just enjoyed the surroundings. After packing up I explored some trails that went down to the water. Looked at a map and saw there is a park called "natural bridges", thought i would check it out. So I headed down the road.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On the way to Natrural Bridges, I stopped at a historical marker. This one was interesting to me. ![]() It had a marker that had a lot of spelling mistakes. And thats a lot coming from me, as I am poor at this, but the story was where it was at.... ![]()

If I remember correct, the sign said something to this effect: some Ute Indiands had stole some horses in western Colorado. The Army gave chase along with a rancher into Utah. At this place the indians had ambushed the army, leaving two dead. The army retreated leaving the two bodies to be found some time later, by some passer byers, and then given a proper burial.

Man! I have been wanting to do a similar trip like this for years. In your opinion, what is the best time to do it - in terms of weather? I need to figure out how to fit it into the school calendar (wife's a teacher)
Nice RR. Thanks for posting it. |

I headed out of Natural Bridges on Rt. 95 east to Blanding and then North on 191 to La Sal...
About 45 min. out of the park I saw another Historical marker. It was some cliff dwellings that you had to hike to...no tourists at these. Very cool... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() back into Colorado on rt 90 saw this interesting house on the border.. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I dont remember what town this is, but there were some cool old cars and I stopped to snap a few pics. My friends back home rat out these old cars and they are never in this kind of condition...hard to find back east and they spend weeks just getting the rust cut out when they do find em....
