Thats what my next ride will be I think. I am new to riding and very new to the adventure thing having grown up in the city with out knowing anyone with a motorcycle I am left trying to find cool places on my own with no real knowledge on were to look.

So any tips of specific roads or anything would be great. I am currently thinking of a 2 day trip towards the nachez area, camping by rattle snake lake, then riding home for work the next day.

finally, yesterday the wife took me shopping and bought me a new riding jacket to fits properly as well as a clarke 4gal tank. then this morning she basically threw my gear at me and told me to get the fuck out of the house. i love that woman.

so i just rode, got lost, rode some more, fueled up, got lost, and finally found my way home after about 5+ hours of riding. it was a lot of run. just wish i was able to track down more dirt today but it was rather cold at around 40 degrees and only owning a pair of summer gloves makes it kinda sucky at times.

i decided to get off the roads and take trails. this was a small trail that runs basically 20 miles or so from north to south. it was a lot faster then riding stop and go with traffic and lights.

and here is a overview of the trail map and surrounding area.

i then got lost in some towns which i don't know the name, nor really cared. i just found back road after back road of fun twisties with no traffic so not too many pictures were taken until this.

im not pleased with this sight

but this did please someone...

anyways, my bike

i ended up about 5 miles from my brother and sister in-law's house and it was about 10am so i knew they would be home so i swung by for a cup of coffee and to shoot the shit for a few. then hit the road again and headed out towards Enumclaw to which i turned off the highway and found this great view at the end of a small trail.

i then spent about a hour trying to figure out how to get onto the other side of the river and ride the gravel road i saw beside it, but no luck so i headed on.

few more miles and few more towns i just kept twisting the throttle until about 2 hours later i ended up here.

i sat on my bike as lots of people just stared at me. sat there for a little while trying to defrost my hands watching the scuba divers come and go from the water.

i did notice one thing though, i really need a smaller point and shoot camera for this. stopping and unpacking my DSLR to take 1 or 2 quick snaps is a pain in the ass.

Looks like you're having fun
but, the Interurban Trail is for bicycles and pedestrians only
No motorized use

You're lucky you didn't get caught

Just Hi

Out here on the Olympic peninsula we had just a spot of sun, so got the Suzuki DR out for a bit, but 48 degrees removes any body warmth in about an hour. Looking forward to some 50-60 degree days. I would bet when the days do warm some, your friends and family will not see much of you.

Ride smart,
Art

well my rides have been a little lacking lately but i was able to get a week off work and do a ride with my wife.

it took us 45 minutes to get through downtown seattle in the pouring rain but from there on traffic was clear and the weather got better and better. we finally arrived a few hours later on San Juan island. i have a bunch of video of us exploring that is currently being uploaded but here are a few pictures my GoPro snapped while out on the roads.

our cabin

have 2 more days but the weather looks like it is starting to turn to the worse.

It's been a while since I last got t go for a decent ride. Working 6/10's wears you out.*

But, fear not. Memorial day I was able to get 3days off. The wife and I packed a few things and headed east Saturday morning. After a slight detour because of a avalanche which added about 4 hours to the ride we got to our camping spot of choice. I love eastern Washington even thought I've only been over the pass twice it's a nice change if scenery.

The next morning we got some breakfast and made a trip up FS road 1500 and found a nice lookout.

Nice view there so we just hung out there and hiked around for a little while.

That was about it other then a little more rides together here and there as well as a few trips by my self.

and just a quick video to leave you with

Looks like some fun riding. And it's always good to get away from home and ride some new territory. You ever want to ride down my way, let me know. We'll meet up and get 'er done.

few pictures another rider grabbed.
