More power to you

What'sbrokenow AKA Don had expressed an interest in seeing more
of the Seattle City Light power project the last time we cruised through
Newhalem. Since I spent part of my youth there and I like to ride those
rural roads I greed to be the tour guide. We had arranged to meet at the
ARCO in Woolley at 9:00 AM. Don showed up at 9:02 after riding from
Ballard. Pretty good. So we got underway right away (I didn't want his
oil to cool) and headed on up to Marblemount.

we then proceeded to the North Cascades NP visitor center where Don was in awe

checked out the info and took the short walk for a view of the Pickett Range

with some Art thrown in

then down to the Little Power House

and a gander at some Big Trees

from the suspension bridge a nice view of Gorge Power House. One pair of big king salmon were procreating below.

then on up to Ladder Creek Falls behind the power house

on the power house observation deck you can see the generators at work

always safety conscious at this facility

then we rode on up to Diablo Dam and across

Pyramid Peak

back down in Diablo

Don checked out the incline railway

Phone Home?

Nice day for a ride. We stopped at Clarks Cabins for the special of
Mushroom/swiss burgers with fries. Thanks for the opportunity Don .

Tip of the hat to Tom Edison for a fine day's ride with plenty to marvel at. Too bad I am not a fisherman, Tom pointed out enough holes and pools to keep somebody busy for years. He mentioned taking trout out of about half of them, so I guess he's got a few more to try.
