Angeles Crest Helix

December 31, 2011 was the 13th Annual LA Biker New Year's Eve Day ride to Newcomb's Ranch and beyond.

The Helix did very well up around 7,500 ft. I'm being followed by a friend on his Moto Guzzi Griso 1100.

Although there was not much snow, we went as far a possible - to Islip Saddle where the road is closed.

I did manage to find a bit of snow to play in...

Great way to end the year.

Nice! How many miles on your Helix? I've got a '98, and I still haven't found a trip it cannot handle.

The Helix is currently at 29,2xx. I have a blast when ever I'm riding it. As much as I love and enjoy my Norge, the Helix is almost too much fun.

It was purchased for the wife (she does not like shifting), but she is ready for something that will handle freeways a bit easier, so we're looking for a good clean Silverwing for her. I don't know if we'll keep the Helix or not. Either way I need to make some room in the garage.

Nice

Love the Helix! A true "classic" scooter IMO.
