Thanks guys. Still sitting here at Para. Some advriders turned up and it was a nice distraction to chat. Great to meet Tim and mates from Adelaide. Might go have a gentle ride to a beautiful spot to sit and think, Aroona Hut.

Hey Girl,

Just come back from lunch with Sooray ... she's soooo excited about going soon.

Sorry to hear about your dad, wishing you inner strength & calm!

Saw your plans on your blog.

Copley is a much nicer looking place for a night than Leigh Creek methinks.

Northern Motorcycles in Pt Augusta (http://www.northernmotorcycles.websyte.com.au/, 08 8642 5551) was spot on and good value when Suse needed a new rear tyre last time we came through.

Hug, dq.

Sorry about your Dad as well. Losing a parent is never easy, regardless what the relationship was at the time.

Also, was wondering about how well your Spot tracker works. It seems like such a good idea but wondering if it actually works in a practical sense?? I see there a the latest ones and one can send texts etc from their smart phones but through the GPS satellites. If I go travelling, I believe these would be a must. Could save your/my life.

thanks and take care.

Prairie Hotel, Parachilna; don't we all wish we had an office like that.

Nazza, I've let Kipo know to expect your call re the replacement rear tyre.

Cheers, Tim

Must have a pastie from the bakery while there Nazza. Love that old pub though, my family owned it back in the 80's/90's.

I've sat up that balcony until the early hours drinking beer and red wine many time, listening to the antics of those who live over the other side of the railway line!!!!!

Enjoy.

Been to the pub for a quick beer while the washing was going. Spent ages in the shower.. oooo nice. Going back to the pub for dinner and have done some blog posts. What an adventure the last week has been. I am a lot more settled in my head now I think. Just keep pushing on. At the moment the end goal is WA and there is a chance I may turn around and go back to Vic. Not sure yet but there will still be lots of riding involved.

Thanks Dan.

I have a Spot original and it is fantastic! And yes it works. Trev saw I may have trouble the other day and while I didn't it was nice to know someone notice. I have my help set to go to someone on the forum and she would get my help asap if I pressed it. My ok button I use to say I am starting and stopping and it lets my family and Tina know where I am staying and if I got there. The tracking goes on my blog map. The batteries in Spot one last soooo long, I have changed them after 6 months even though they didn't need it. I would recommend it to anyone doing this kind of thing.

On another note I may not go north now. There is one problem with being a female rider and it has decided to hit me at the worst time. Have I ever said how much I hate being a woman?? I don't think Aunty Flo will enjoy 5 days in the desert Damn me and my stubborness about invasive surgery LOL

Just read your blog.

There's a Rural Transaction Centre with www access in Marree. And you can buy wireless access in Marree, Williamas Creek & Oodnadatta.

Happy decision making.

:-) dq.
