Cline Butte

Here's what the Cline Butte OHV area looks like. The forest service dropped these off at our shop. We have all of CO OHV area maps.... if you want to come to Madras for them .

Wheel balance

Hey I've got some rim locks on my DRZ and with my new tires it will about shake you off if you gas it at 50mph+.
Is there anybody who knows how to balance bike wheels? If somebody would show me how I could swing a sixer.

Cheers-

I was just talking with my husband, aka Mr Forrest_fire1, if u r willing to drive up to Madras he's willing to help out. Ideally if its at 5pm Monday thur Friday as he is at the motorcycle shop and that is closing time, so he will be able to help and the shop is available to use to. At farmerscycle and small engine repair.

Hey thanks, I really appreciate that. I typically don't have free evenings on weeknights, if I don't get them balanced by next weekend I might have to take you up on that (mainly because I'd like to learn how to do it instead of just taking it a shop all the time).

Cheers-

Take the wheel and axle out, set it in a balancing stand or just make one. Get some lead weights and stick them on the opposite of the heavy spots, or get lead wire and wrap it around the spokes on the light side. Check youtube for plenty of helpful videos. Or put balancing beads in the tubes.

Wheel balance

Thanks guys, I did take it in to get balanced but I'm definitely going to do it myself next time. It took 13oz on the rear wheel, that's huge! back wheel has all kinds of weights sticking on it, wrapped on the spokes etc. But it does ride real nice now.

Cheers-

13 oz seems kind of crazy, that's almost a pound. Anybody ever heard of this much weight being req'd? I thought my KTM was bad and it only took 4 I think...

There is something wrong did they check to see if it was true and not bent that is an insane amount of weight. I would get a second opinion!!!

Free this weekend?

I'm a fishing widow this weekend, so if anyone is free for a ride and/or meet-up, let me know. I'm preferring the KTM type ride, just so you know.

That works for me. Yes, my 450 is a DS. Name the time and place and I'll be there.
