What's his...thanks, silly question from my side...tyre set up for this type of ride road or trail ....I'm running Ktm standard pirelli's but setting up another set of wheels with more so off road tyre selection ? early days for me with ADv riding, I'm a Berg rider from the tight twisties so forgive me....but I'm as keen as hell to actually get this bike out and go riding...I see the post for the Maidenwell ride and am keen for that also,

ah .. the old tyre choice can of worms

i'm running a dunlop d606 on the rear and a pirelli mt21 up front on my tenere's and that combo works for my riding style or lack there of

plenty of tyre choice threads in the oz forum with plenty of differing opinions... good luck

Best to have good fresh knobs if you're riding with WHF.
He has a strong aversion to sealed roads and a 'let's see where this goes' attitude.

That's not to say he'll ride at breakneck speed, lead you somwhere stupid or even make unforced navigational errors but you will have more fun on knobs.

Definately dirt should be your choice for this ride matey. As you can see by the piccie I posted on the second page of this thread. I ran a Dunlop 606 on the rear and a T63 on the front of the 660 I owned at that time, and still had troubles...

Can get gnarly in spots with a few creek crossings and rocky outcrops but mainly if we get just the slightest bit of rain you will need all the knobs you can get ya hands on, (on ya tyres that is)....

Definately a personal choice but I know I would be going with a full knobbie for a trip like this. Remembering that this suggestion is for only the track out to see Beautiful Betsy. The rest will be easy going tracks...
