Click on "Clay RAthburn"

The dirt bike project is Clay's idea of the ultimate go anywhere custom Triumph. This project was designed and fabricated from the ground up by Atom Bomb to withstand the punishment of serious dual sport riding; and look good doing it. Engineering and product support from Race Tech Suspension, Burns Stainless, DC Plastics, Industrial Hard Carbon and Rebel Gears is helping to ensure this project will perform as good as it will look. This is currently a "build" gallery, and contains pictures of some of the steps along the way.

Ooooh. Words fail me on that one - it's the stuff of the home builder's dreams.

Nice Autumn day here in Auckland so took the Commando for a spin. Stopped at the local surf beach for a pic, Australia is out there somewhere......lurking...like jaws.
Feeling the need for some new shocks and a Lansdown front end conversion....plus a new seat..the list goes on and never ends...
Being a desk jockey is taking its toll....

Currently in the middle of writing up an article on Dunstall. Of all the bikes he built (or built parts for) my favorite has to be the Dunstall Dominator; Norton Featherbed with a Atlas 750 base. Love his swept-back header shape!

Actual Dunstall-built machines are pretty rare.

Towards the end he built Suzukis too. This was the best one. Kind of ironic...an English Suzuki! That the late L.J.K. Setright taking a hard left.

I prefer Cafe machines to be a little more rugged

Some of the fibreglass parts were truely appaling but were I suppose of their time. This is how I remember cafe machines, not the blinged up machines being offered up through rose tinted glasses. One of our neighbours had one when I was a kid in the 60's, it used to rattle our windows when he fired it up. Reverse cone meggars with no baffles :-)

Some interesting Norton info here http://www.squidoo.com/paul-dunstall-tuning

Thanks ricochet, only used on 1971 frames, but you prob new that already.
The home market tank is the best one I reckon.
