I've posted pictures of this bike in its previous incarnation in this thread already (check my avatar), but since it's been redone, and I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, and in spite of the fact that I've been showing it off in another thread, it seems appropriate that I add some pictures of it here.

That Triumph is very cool. Were those built using the B44 frame?

I have a spare B44 frame that I've often thought of installing a T100 motor into.

frame on TR5T

I can address that a little bit...

Short answer, No, it's a whole different animal.

The TR5T was an OIF unit construction twin.
It shares many of the improvements that the B50's got for the years 71-74.
Still, the frame is specificaly for the TR5T. The tank shares it's dimentions with the Triumph 250 blazer and SS models. The tank is the same as the TR5MX Avenger, but with a different color scheme.

Bottom line, the TR5T shares nothing with a 441

A B50 frame...

Is there a larger capacity steel fuel tank that will fit the Triumph TR5T perhaps ?

oif tanks

I suspect that the largre capacity tank for a B50 would fit right on a TR5T, although I have not seen or heard about anyone doing it.

3.5 gallons?

Thanks for the reply.
That looks like one that was on UK eBay and had been on a TR5T.

It did not have the two threaded bungs underneath that hold the steel cross bar ?
No doubt they are as rare as the alloy tank if not more so.

Hey Johnny,
To clairify that statement...
The TR5T is the same exact as a B50?
I know there's many simularities, but I have never gone over tit for tat to see what/where a difference might be.

And I did assume there'd be difference where engine mounts, exhaust tabs, ect.
Even seat tabs.

If the picture links in Post # 383 do not have enough detail I can take some more for curiosity sake if need be.
My TR5T frame is bare right now.

Pretty much everything that bolts onto a B50 frame bolts on to a TR5T frame. Pretty sure even the seat tabs are the same. The major differences between the 2 are the engine bay and the length of the rear loop rearward of the shock mounts. IIRC in order to fit the 500cc twin the engine bay was increased by moving the front down tube forward.
