Thanks!
Absolutely! The lion's share of riding will be rough gravel roads and shallow water crossings.

Darn...I'm one of those saps who works Saturdays. Great area though. Did a ride there very similar a couple years back. Think we rode every rock road in Jefferson and Switzerland counties. Keep the tracks for a Sunday later!

pretty friendly

It's pretty noob friendly. Dave had no problem on his Vstrom...well who can account for slippery moss. All the gravel roads are fairly well maintained the only one that's a little special is Bee Camp road and the crossing of Jefferson Lake, which last time I was there in the jeep had been washed out on account of some of the rains. By March things can change again, I go out that way a lot exploring so I'll keep an eye on it in case we have to reroute. East Fork road where the water flowing over the culvert picture is a very nice long gravel stretch, probably the longest in the county and ends not too far from Friendship which is always a nice visit, and if people get tired of gravel there's Old SR 62 that comes back.

Looks like fun. I'll be working at the Indy 1500 gun show all weekend.

Don't worry, Mark. We'll definitely have some Sunday rides once the spring floods pass! I'll bet that WR does an awesome job on this type of ride. Wish I could make the Icebreaker ride with you guys, but family obligations have me tied up that weekend.

I sure hope you can avoid drill that weekend, Noah. Do you know if that bar is open in Friendship this time of year? That might be a great place for a pit stop if there's more than three of us. There's quite a bit more interest in this early ride than I expected, so it may work out that way!

Here's a map showing the WalMart in Madison and the general route over to Bee Camp Road, which is how at least 90% of the rides I've ever done around Madison begin. Many of the pics I've posted were taken along this road or on roads accessed from Bee Camp.

Yep - the wr likes those type roads the best John. Here's a few pics from a ride Jerry and I did following kris-kris tracks.

Oh - I have no doubt the the Friendship Bar would be open. That place is the only game in town.

Friendship Bar & Grill - Jerry and I never fit in....no chrome, no big pipes, thumpers....
Shoot! We didn't even drink beer...

Wow, I hadn't seen this pic of the courthouse burning! Hasn't the restoration been completed?

Any of you locals familiar with this bridge? It's supposedly on IN 56 and I've probably crossed it dozens of times but never noticed the underneath.

Awesome. Definitely interested in finding some new roads in that area, always enjoy my rides there.

ride

The courthouse is rebuilt, I'm not sure where that bridge is but I think it may be on the west side of town close to the south entrance of clifty falls state park, which is a very nice place to ride through as well.
