Those are the old rims! Front hub was bead blasted and clear coated.

Its all looking excellent Igor - nice job on the wheels - keep it coming soon you will see light at the end of the tunnel and battle panda will be up and running.

My project is coming to an end (yep she has a name - Bilge pump) and is days away from being finished. 6 month, pots of money, time and sweat. I sort of loved her battered and scarred old exterior from miles of road together and now she looks like a tarts handbag - what have I done .

Looking good Igor! You've put a lot of thought into the build up.

You can't be too far off now?
Looking forward to seeing the ready to crate pics.

M.

Hi Michael, unfortunately plans have changed a bit. The trip is still on, but for a number of reasons we’ve had to postpone. As such, bike prep has taken a bit of a back seat lately, but things will continue to progress.

Penny and I were (and still are a bit) a little shellshocked by the decision, but it’s for the best I think. Of course it’s not all bad - I could’ve posted a stock photo of a CANCELLED flight board.

I guarantee a pic of a crated bike by next May.

I am now officially a fan of the RS fairing. Got the R80 Mono on the road yesterday and just rode back through the weather from Akatarawa to the city. Wind and rain were essentially shrugged off. I can see why people rave about R-eSses being great winter bikes.

Now I mustn’t give in to temptation to make it a proper RS...

Would have been a hard decision but the right one I'm sure. Not the sort of trip you want to step into under prepared. Not that you can ever be fully prepared but you'll be better off for it. Some time to battle test the air head will pay dividends as well. Keep tweaking and riding the bike as well as a little more reasearch on the route to help keep the dream alive.
Got a pic with the RS fairing on for us?

Looks very nice. Did you get them blasted or painted? Who did it? I can see the K100 backing plate. How is the brake mod coming along. Got all parts now?

Would I be correct that you are getting some fab done, hence the trip to Akatarewa?

Progess on the forks?

And I'm guessing that the wheels have arrived now?
