Mendo NF Rally 2012
UPDATE! The dates are May 3-6.
Hey Everybody, It looks like most people are going to be trucking in. The problem is we probably won't have enough parking spots for everybody. So some folks are going to have to unload their gear and park at the boat ramp. It's only a couple minutes away and we can shuttle people if necessary. Also we're not allowing RV's in the the group parking lot, they just take up too much room. Even full size trucks with trailers may not be able to fit. We'll try to squeeze in as many as possible, but please be flexible. Attached is a map of the campsite. As you can see there's limited parking. The RV spot is where we'll have all of our cooking equipment and supplies and won't be available for general parking. My truck will be there since it's hauling much of the equipment to the site. Don't worry about bike parking, we have plenty of that. If you have any questions just PM me. ![]() So we've started getting questions about the rally this year so here's the thread. I've talked with Cory and DaveBro and we decided it'll be quite similar to last year's. We'll be at Fuller Grove group campground again as long as it's open. It should be, but it depends on weather and water availability at the site. The tentative dates are May 3-6, and we'll have the site Thursday through Sunday nights. This way we avoid Mother's Day and aren't too close to the Sheet Iron ride. This is of course subject to change. This year we will be charging up front to make sure people who say they are showing do. The cost isn't set yet but it'll be inexpensive. The price will include four nights of camping and dinner Friday and Saturday nights. There will be an extra cost for dinner Thursday night. I think we'll do a similar menu to last year, Hot dogs, sausage and chili Friday, pulled pork on Saturday ( in the pit smoker of course) and for the early birds, pizza Thursday. Remember this group campsite is limited to 50 people and it's for tent camping. If you have an RV you can stay at the Fuller grove individual site campground, all of 3 minutes away and still have meals and hang out with everybody. RV's are allowed at the group site but take up too much of the available parking. In the next couple of months we'll iron out the details, get the cost figured and get some rides planned. So there it is, the thread is started. Please feel free to make suggestions or ask questions.

Also the cut off for sign ups and payments is MAY 1st midnight. We will be off the grid May 2nd and will not have access to internet to verify payments. More importantly we have to go shopping for food and need a firm number to buy food for. Thanks
This is an unorganized I repeat unorganized ride. You show up camp and hang out and ride with who and where you want. PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THIS POST! THIS EXPLAINS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, RELEASE OF LIABILIT, AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS. PLEASE READ BEFORE SENDING YOUR PAYMENT. FOLKS, ONCE YOU SEND YOUR PAYMENTS, WE ARE ALL EQUALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING CARE OF THE PG&E CAMPSITE. IN ADDITION: Attending this event is voluntary and you are responsible for your actions and whatever comes out of it. Motorcycle riding involves some safety risks and you are aware that you can get hurt, have serious injury or even lead to fatality. Make certain your motorcyle is in good mechanical condition, legally registered and licensed. You should know how to operate it to a competent level of safety and fun. Now say the pledge of allegiance with me: "Inside or outside the forest, we will ride only open and legal roads or trails." The IN LIST for the PG&E group camp ground will be capped off at 50 people. Once we start taking payments in March the first 50 people to pay for group camping are in. If you want to RV or dont make the group cut off you can still make your own reservations at the FULLER GROVE public camp ground and join us for meals. Fuller Grove Link for RVs etc (make your own reservation): http://www.fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fs...ove+Campground Camping is $20 per person (Thur-Sun) Meals are $30 per person (Friday & Saturday Dinner as well as Beverages & Snacks) Also the cut off for sign ups and payments is MAY 1st midnight. Andy, Think of this as a warm up for the Sheetiron. Heck riding with 500 of your best'est friends. They only pass you one at a time. Most of the time anyway... I'll drive.

Hey Dean, I remember when you mentioned this last year in DV.
Don't know why I missed the first one. (I guess I thought working on the house was more important... )I wouldn't want to miss out again - Please put me down as IN. |
