Knee braces that are WIDE - are there any ?

I have trouble finding knee braces that fit my legs. I have a calf of 20 inches and thigh just oabove the knee of 24 inches, Cannot find fitting knee braces or even knee pads. Anyone with similar sizing tried and tested something that fits ?

The best way to get an accurate measurement would be to measure right over your knee cap... let me know that measurement and I can help ya out

Just measured:
- calf 20 inches;
- right below knee cap 17 inches;
- right above knee cap - 19,5 inches;
- 4 inches above knee cap - 24 inches.

So you would probably fit best in the Asterisk Ultra Cell XXL knee braces. The cool thing about these for you is if they don't fit around your calf or thigh you can get larger replacement straps (the part that contains the BOA system that wraps around the back of your leg).

My apologies Asterisk only makes the XXL in the Cell (the older version of the Ultra Cell). They still make this version (although, I dont think its one their website) but I know we've gotten them in the recent past for a couple of our customers.

Those might work in the XXL the only issue is because your calf and thigh are on the larger side they tend to not fit very well in those areas. We had a gentleman in a similar situation as yours and the straps on the K700 were very uncomfortable becuase they didn't fit correctly in the thigh/calf area.

I have a custom made DonJoy that my Ortho had ordered for me after tearing my knee up during a desert race. With insurance the cost came to about $350 but it does have a guarantee that they would pay for any ACL repair surgery if you were injured while wearing it. Full retail price was about 1K from what I recall.

Here is a link to the one I have:

I have been using it for over a year and a half and once it is on I don't notice it at all while riding. If you go this route I would recommend skipping their impact guard, it was flimsy and didn't stay in place for me so I have been using a pair of Fox Titan shinguards which just barley fit around the guard and provide more protection.
