Cheeses Pete, thats a very generous offer, but that comment was made tongue in cheek and I dont expect any one to do that for me, and I would hate to damage your bike.
So thanks very much, but no thanks.
Why don't you have a go, or are you still on the injury list?

No MD road books in aussie at the moment.

An MD roadbook is not a pre-requisite - only a roadbook. Easy enough to make and not too critical if you're there to learn and have some fun. I doubt a person would make the podium with a manual, home-made roadbook but even that's not out of the question if you have a 250 to race!

Being on the podium is the furtherest thing from my mind.

I will look at the regs and see how much will be involved to comply. I'm flat out at work and won't have much time for bike prep. If it looks easy I might have a go.
I lent my nav gear to my mate for the Yilgarn last year and it is still on his bike. I don't like my chances of getting that back.
FFS Howard, how many more excuses do you need!, u must be getting old, my prep for the rally will be a big night on the turps the night before, jump on the bike with a worn out rear tyre with a hang over and try not to throw up in my helmet for the duration, Whers your sence of adventure gone??

Nav gear

A $20 tuppaware box road book holder and the stock odo is more than enough for this rallymoto event, the nav required is not that hard, in fact you mostly need it to find your way between specials on the liaison sections.

And yes a skilled rider could certainly podium with a $20 tuppaware box road book holder at this event.

All I'm saying is the nav is not as critical as a cross country rally like Condo or Yilgarn etc

So anyone can easily run pretty much anything that is off road or gravel road focussed................even a V-Strom, Transalp etc

Sure you might not give too many worries to Grabbo or Damo...........................but you can have a huge hoot and one of the best fun rides you can try in SW WA

Fair point, but an easy point to make if your bike is already set up.
and yes I am getting old, but somehow I think my prep will be similar to yours.
See ya there.

Thanks.
The Supp Reg's say classes are:
E1 - 0 to 250cc
E2 - 251 to 500cc
E3 - 501 to open.

Sounds to me like 1200cc fits into the "open" category.
I also had a look in the "2012 Manual of Motorcycle Sport" and couldn't find any limit other than those prescribed for other specific events and classes.

I wonder if one of the 2.5 litre Triumph cruisers will turn up now??
Cheers
JayBo

It looks like I've ran out of excuses now Bully. You had better make sure the beer is cold.

Neil, do you realise this is the weekend before easter. How are you going to get a leave pass two weekends in a row?
