what about the dwarf ?? he's gone a bit quiet, got a new BMX bike and you don't hear from him . is he still in ?

I'll be working till finish on the Friday so will travel down after that. Howard is trying to get some more detail about the Friday night festivities, we may have to meet at the Nannup and travel to the farm ( 5 kms) for a few bevvies .

Not sure what anyone else has planned, but the farm has a 3/4 completed house with kitchen , fridge, and roof/floor/walls to sleep in. Too good an offer to pass up. Got 2 in the Slolux at this stage, just have to confirm if I take the trailer or not, Howard reckons he'll ride the GS down, race it all weekend and then ride it home, his race prep means he's turned it around in the shed to make it easier to get out ( but it is a Beema ) Only possible weak point is the rider apparently.

The dwarf's in.
Going to try and get down to Busso for the special stage on Friday night. Don't know where i'll be sleeping on that night as I haven't thought that far ahead yet. But the aim is to get to Nannup on Saturday morning with plenty of time to help Howard and Rick.

Rick, Howard,

My plan is to take Friday off work and head down sometime that morning so i'll be around to help with whatever. I need to be back in Perth on Sunday but not til late so I will see the event end and then i'll have to shoot off.

I'll be riding down, not sure if i'll take the slabber or the dr, so I can't carry too much gear. I assume you guys will have whatever spares etc you will need. Bully will probably be more helpful in that regard.

At this stage it looks like we are a 4 ball. Me, Bully and you 2. So we should all adopt the same or similar plan and work it as a bit of a team thing.

Reading the info on the web site it looks like Bully and I will also need to register. I've not done this before so what could possibly go wrong.

And no need to panic. Its 4 weeks away.

A spare stubby holder will be good, I'll bring a shovel, If you fall off and can't get up we'll just dig a hole and roll you in it ( although by the news in recent days, not required to bury the dead in Nannup )

Throw a swag in and perhaps a jerry of fuel, just in case you wind up the wick on Frank . Leave the Banjo at home, should already be enough there.

guess I'll have to read up as well and see what is required ( apart from cold beer ) .

That was fairly well hidden, well I hadn't found it anyhow.
I will have a read tonight and make a plan, but I won't be there any longer than I need to be. I've got to work Friday and will be heading home straight after the event on Sunday, assuming I am capable.
the only spares I intend to take is a rear wheel, and stubby holder of course.

Thoughts

It would appear that Motos are not included in the Friday night special stage in Busselton. That opens up the option of heading straight to Nannup and skipping Busso altogether. That makes camping etc easier.

Scrutineering is on Friday between 10am and 3pm in Busso.

We could set up in Nannup, go to Busso to check out the cages and go back to Nannup when we get bored. Makes drinking in Busso a no go though. Or, we set up in Nannup and drink beer joining the fun on Saturday morning. When a few of us went down as spectators a few years back, thats what we did. Skipped Busso and based ourselves at the Nannup caravan park, which by coincidence was staggering distance from the pub.

The Motos will be at Busso - it's compulsory to participate in the demo laps of the Super Special Stage circuit - not to mention attend the Rally drivers/riders briefing. There are likely to be penalties for not attending the Busso demo. It's not a "competitive" stage, but an important part of the profile of the event, the spectators love it, the ARC drivers love watching the bikes there and from my experience the bike riders love it! Don't short change yourself by thinking about not being there!

The scrutineering is the week before the event, and is in Perth - Osborne Park somewhere. The address is in the information somewhere.

If you need the Moto Supp Reg's, rider profile forms, entry form, etc, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll flick you a copy. They were all supposed to be going on the RallyWA website, but I'm not sure what happened with that plan.

Cheers guys
JayBo

So is the penalty likely to be financial, or a time penalty?
Is there still talk of a beach stage?
I can't find the Supp regs on the MWA site or the T&E site either.
PM on it's way.

The penalty is to be decided (I'm think bike forfeiture - unless it's a Beemer, then probably a one second time penalty as you obviously need all the help you can get). It should be a moot point though. It's one of the highlights of the event so like I said, unless you really can't make it, don't short change yourself and the spectators and get your arse there! It really is a hoot and the atmosphere is brilliant. I was soooo jealous of the riders when I was there but couldn't ride myself. Now, once again, I'll find myself there in an official role so can't ride. You'll love it. (Although it's mega stressful for me).

As far as I know it will be the same short tarseal stage as previously. We are looking for opportunities to do something a little different for the bikes but we don't want to split the spectators between the cars and bikes because it's the atmosphere of the event that is magic, and the crowd and commentary is part of that. The organiser team have a few ideas though so you never know what lurks ...

The event is a RallyWA event, although the T&E club and many others have been sent the information. (The permit is actually held by the T&E Club, so technically the Moto's are an MWA endorsed event and hence the need for muggins, and several other volunteers, to be an official). I'll chase things up and see about getting it put on the T&E site anyway. In the mean time, I've sent you what you need.

Cheers
JayBo
