I'm up for some more training this evening for our new-to-tier-8 guys. I can bring my other account's larger tanks and let you shoot them all you want to learn angle and your tanks' ability to penetrate. We're talking about the IS-4, IS-8, and M-103.

Later, if anyone wants to, we can go one on one in similar sized tanks (tier 8). I'd like to get some of the newer-to-tier-8's a good amount of practice. This isn't an ego thing, I'll let you kill me all you want to until you say you're ready to step it up to actual battle-like conditions. Yes, it costs you ammo, but that is a fair price to pay for not costing ya wins in real battles. The KV-5 was fun, and yes you guys have to face it at tier-8, but maybe it's time we do one-on-ones with less strong tanks for the next training? For these I can bring the IS-3, Pershing M26, or the T34.

Let me know, here, if you want to meet for training this evening, or some other.
I would be up for that sometime. I'm not sure when I'll have time again though. Maybe sometime next week. I think this week is going to be pretty busy for me.

Looks like we'll be able to see what the new Physics Engine will be like. See below for details.

Commanders!

Ever dreamt of shoving an enemy off the Westfeld Bridge? Or pushing someone smaller than you into the Erlenberg River? Have you wondered how physics could change map strategies, combat tactics, and more?

We’re giving you the opportunity to run a preliminary test of vehicle motion under our new physics system. It will be the first test of its kind and you’re guaranteed to enjoy it a whole lot more than the physics tests you had in school. Please, note that it will be available only on the Public Test server

Take your favorite tanks then ramp, smash, fall, collide, and clash them in ways you never imagined. This is your chance to tell us what you think and give us your input on this game changing innovation.

This public test is focused specifically on the physics system; so many game features which you are accustomed to will be disabled:
- training battles
- 'purchase premium', 'purchase gold', 'exchange XP' and other battles in the top right part of the screen
- all points of main Hangar menu (Depot, Store, Tech Tree) etc.
- Tutorial
- Radial menu
- Saving password for login

This test will not contain any additional features expected for release in 8.0 and no new content will be available during this test, so players will not receive any additional gold or experience buffs. We want to specifically bring you attention to the fact that this is not a Public Test of update 8.0.

As a fair warning, mods during this test will cause the game to crash, so please refrain from using them. This test will include an unfinished version of our new graphics engine so you will want to make sure all your drivers are current.

All the feedback and suggestions received from our community are valued, however, in this instance please focus your assessment on the physics system we are inviting you to examine and experiment with. We are excited about this advancement for World of Tanks and we can’t wait to hear what you have to say about it.

Players will be able to download the test version as soon as the installation maintenance is over on Tuesday, August 21th at 05:00 PDT (12:00 UTC). Please note that only those players who registered prior to August 14th 2012 before 17:00 PDT (00:00pm UTC, the following day) are eligible to login to the test server.

In order to make your game experience more efficient we need to limit the number of players that are able to log in to the test server. As a result you could be placed on the waiting list when the server reachs 26.000 players logged in. Test will stopped approximately on the 27th of August.

Please note that the cluster you will choose will be subject to a restart schedule as follows:

Every other day from 23:00 PDT (06:00 UTC, the following day) and lasts for about 25 min
To participate in the test you need to follow the steps below:
1. Make a copy of your game client and save it in a SEPARATE and SAFE location from your 'normal' game directory.

2. Download the Physics Public Test Client installer (8.5 Mb installer and ~2.4 Gb client itself)

3. Install and run the new copy of the game.

Only players who registered prior to August 14th 2012 can access the public test server.

Please note, the public test server has some special features:

Payments are not accepted on the public test server.
Progress will not be transferred to the main server.
Important: We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the test server is subject to the same EULA and general rules of the World of Tanks game server. This means that the restrictions and punishments are the same as on the official game server of World of Tanks. The details of the Physics public test can be discussed in a special forum but if you want to report any bugs, please make sure they go to this forum so that they can be fixed.

Looks like I'll be on a fair bit less. I've got at least 2 college classes that will take a fair bit of my time. Intro to Java, and American Indian History (My first 2000 level class)...

Bat Chat 155 in garage, got the tracks so at least I can have vent, GLD and camo net on the tank.. just not the 62 kph top speed.

Still trying to get a hang of it, w/both loaders at 115%, 4-round mag takes about 68 sec. to reload, 18-20 sec to empty 4-round mag.

Gunner w/deadeye 100%, designated target 100% & snap shot 71%, taking out module on enemy tanks about 80% of the shots landed. unsure how much splash damage caused, but counter arty gets easiere if I have all 4 rounds available.

Dear God, epic battle in the Churchill just now. 60-some shots, 10 kills.

10 Kills.

Worked my ass off and only came away with 295hp left, this was all on Steppes (Encounter).

Best. Round. Ever.

General script for any medium tank:
1) Start match by spotting. Don't shoot things, let your teammates do the work. It is imperative that you stay alive. Here are two possible strategies you can use:
a) Peak over hills. This works great in Prokhorovka, but works poorly in city maps or plains maps. You need optics to do this. Requires lots of luck - specifically, enemy can't aim, and your team participates.
b) Stationary scouting. You have to understand camo. Medium tanks have about 25% innate camo when stationary. That means with a camo crew, a bush, and a camo net, enemy tanks must close to 50m before they can see you. If you have a good field of view, you can fire at targets if the closest red is >100m away. Binocs will show you an approaching light at 200m. When you do this, you must not maneuver at all, including hull rotation! Just sit tight and let your team shoot over your head. Sixth sense is extremely useful here. Don't get hit!!!

2) Once spotted, you need to fall back. This is a good time to go save your arty from the dude that spotted you. Sadly, about half of your matches will end here.

3) Still 100% right? Time to use your hitpoints. Find a spot on the map where your dudes are being cockblocked by a standoff. Wait for some of the enemy tanks to fire off a shell, and then kamikaze past them. The goal is to show the back of their turrets to your heavies. If you execute this maneuver correctly and have a bit of luck, this will win the match.

4) Did you survive step 3? Go kill the enemy arty, then screw with the reds on the other side of the map.

Sounds like I should have upgraded the engine before I did the gun.

M1A2 is a great gun for a medium tank.
