If you don't mind expanding your garage slots, for pure fun and effectiveness the Marder II is worth keeping, skilling up the crew, and just creating havoc.

It may not one-shot a lot, but it takes care of a lot of higher tier tanks. While I may get miffed at MM always being the lowest tier with other tanks, with the Marder I never mind. If they'd just bring back the bonuses for damaging higher tier tanks that they mistakenly took out a long time ago it's be great.

I got my M3 Lee last night. The battle lasted all of 40 seconds for me.

I think I'm gonna stick with arty.

The Lee is quick to die when played as a tank. Play it as a TD and it supposedly gets better. Note that I don't have any personal experience with this, as I bypassed the Lee in favor of the M7 MT. Easy 8, here I come.....

I generally despise Lee drivers. Truthfully, just about all of us go through the tank and have to deal with it, but no other tank in the game seems to aimlessly wander across open areas, always pointed the wrong way, while being shot at and dying uselessly. There's just something clueless about the typical Lee driver, and you will probably see that the team with the most Lees on it usually loses. So yes, like Smurf suggested, play it as a TD - stay well BEHIND the scouts who are lighting tanks up, and use the Lee's one redeeming quality - its gun - to inflict damage. It makes for a different game, one requiring patience, but on occasion I've seen maybe 1% of Lee drivers rule the battlefield.

I have to admit that I think I sold the Lee in frustration - twice - before deciding to deal with it. My win ratio was terrible in it those times, so for the last time I concentrated on using it to the best of my abilities, and I was only able to eek out a 46% win ratio with it (it really doesn't help lead a team to victory as easily as some other tanks of its tier) before I gave up on it... for now. I think I still have my Lee crew should I ever feel the need to improve that win ratio.

I was trying to play as a TD as I have seen Lees fail while dropping arty on them. Not sure what got me. I was hiding in some brush, got hit with an arty round and a scout finished me off.

I waited and bought it with a 75% crew too.

M7 and Easy 8 are still my favorites. I did pick up a Slugger last night and for the first time spent the gold to get a 100% crew. It's fun so far and I don't have to since I've been using my E8 w/105mm as a TD I hardly need to change my gameplay. True TD are new to me though so I have some learning to do.

I also gave up on getting exp in the the AMX 40 and converted enough free exp to jump into the AMX12t. It only has a basic crew and it really needs upgrades, but at least I can make this one good. The 40 was hopeless.

Something I noticed last night was that the M7 REALLY needs the Gun Laying Drive when using the 6 pounder. Aim time is longer than the reload time without it. Very annoying.

With the Lee do you get to use both guns?

Nope....at least not yet. You can only use the hull gun for now. Dual gun support is supposed to be implemented in a future, as yet unscheduled release according to Wargaming.net.

No. They say they've been developing a method to do that for multi-turreted tanks, but I doubt we will ever see it in practice.

----

Another thing I've slowly learned after ceasing paying for gold or a premium account is to just wait until the tank I want next is on sale. What this means, in the meantime, is playing the tanks you have to get the 75% crews to 100% (makes a big difference), and then to continue training them for whatever skills (there are more coming soon I have read) you think would be handy.

Every tank tier 6 and under comes up for sale eventually.
