Sure looks real - but it's probably a small bit of handicap (watch out for that rock! THUMP )

Oh my, I think I need to upgrade my computer at some point, that looks awesome. Mine does not even show the matted down hay or whatever it is.

And you can't tell me that the dust made you run in to that rock... I will have to get a picture of said rock to show everyone why.

Unfortunately, I was on the wrong end of this particular accomplishment:

Let this be a lesson - don't leave any 25ts running around!

I'm running dual cards in this machine - the 2560x1600 in the images above is being driven by an nVidia GTX580 with 1.5 gigs of RAM and the other two screens are running off of a GTX275 with a gig.

The motherboard is a gigabyte... I forget the model... has an overclocked i7 in it running @ 4ghz and 16 gigs of ram. Due to the nature of my business I tend to run up to date stuff.. but I haven't found anything that slows this setup down yet so I haven't upgraded it in the past 8 months or so. The new 6 series cards are nice in that they are lower power consumption (but similar in performance) but I'm using an HX1000 psu so it isn't a concern. If I was buying new I'd buy a 6 series nVidia for that reason. Unless you are running multiple 2560 displays I find the GTX x8x series to be plenty of power (i.e. the GTX x9x series wouldn't do anything for you). If I was running 1920 like most folks.. the GTX x6x series as it is the best bang for the buck. I think Jarrod just got a GTX 660 for less than $250.

Hope this helps

Another screen shot: the graphic engine is quite detailed - check out when you look into the sun the dust actually glows and lights up as in the real world. You also see all kinds of lighting glare/effects.

As from a dozen or so pages back.. here's a desktop capture running 4960x1920

See the lens flair? Why is there lens flair?
Because cool hollywood movies use lens flair.
I'm not looking through a lens. I'm free floating in space beside my tank looking toward the sun. There shouldn't be a lens flair but hollywood's mistakes (lens flairs) have become ubiquitous

I prefer budget-conscious entertainment.

For WoT, you can experience those results on one 1080p monitor with 4GB of ram, any ~$100 quad-code processor (AMD or Intel, doesn't matter), and a ~$125 graphics card. The same rig will give you passable performance on any of the upcoming CryEngine games. Personally, I use a single Radeon 6850 and a $60 AMD processor. Sample Screen Cap

If you go for 3+ displays, or expect 60 fps on a max-settings CryEngine game, this rig is out of it's league. But for that degree of realism, I'll stick to the motorcycle.

Damn Newegg for sending me emails about PC component deals. I'm trying to finish the race-bike!
Anyone have an Ivy Bridge proc. yet? Just wondering how they compare to the I5 2500K...

I have a machine here with Ivy bridge.
It is a little faster than the equiv. sandy bridge but not by much (but it does draw less power too). I think two with the same specs see the Ivy bridge being about 5% faster - but that said, Sandy Bridge overclocks better.

The integrated graphics are definitely faster but they are still not "WoT" powerful.. you'll still need a video card.

Hope this helps

p.s. I hear you about their flyers.. I purchased almost 200 1TB+ hard drives from them last year

I don't need 200 1TB drives, but I'm going to be in the market for a pair of 2TB drives next month. My current 500 GB drive is almost full, and my motherboard supports RAID, so.......

I don't film myself - limited hard drive space - but it was lakeville, from the south, and I went to the valley west with good support from a heavy, a medium, and 2 arty in the back.

What the TOG has going for it is height, and pretty good gun depression. You can put binocs on it and get a good view over hills, then peek forward and snipe at whatever is exposed without showing the whole of the beast. And that gun hits pretty hard on its own, and I used a handful of gold rounds to break through the logjam fast at the expense of credits (not realizing I was going to get top gun and the bonus), and then found 2 of their arty on the field behind the rise, not far back as they should have been - easy kills. One more tank around the bend, and the jagdpanzer in their cap defending, and that was that. 5 minute battle.

Now, not all battles go that well, but this is indicative of what the TOG is capable of, played well, and supported correctly. Put it out front to soak up enemy attention, throw one friendly berzerker in there to foment chaos, and mop up using arty and one more heavy to soften everything up. We'd have won just as fast if the timing were different and I'd only gotten 3 of those kills, but the damage dealt would have been the same.

I almost got top gun in the SU85, but when trying to kill the last T1 heavy I bounced 4 in a row
