This weekend I actually played quite a bit....after running around all day saturday with the wife I went and bashed my little toe (I am sure it is broken, all black and blue and about the size of my thumb).

I ground the Ferdi this weekend, wanted that big gun, and till you get that gun you are just a big slow target for...well....everything.

I was shooting a great deal of prem and he ammo while I had the 88 and on one game it came down to me in the ferdi, one unit of arty, two JGTiger8.8 and one beat to hell t29.

It was on the mines map...small map for those big tanks, I and the t29 are on the island. The arty is in the back and the two jgtigers are on that little rise overlooking the town by the base....they never moved.

The t29 and I had a pretty good system going....the enemy would start to shoot at me, get lit up and the t29 would run around behind them and put a few rounds in the rear....we took out 4 enemy tanks doing the same thing.

We get to the enemy base, they have one tank left a T30 IIRC and now those two jgtigers move to try to get in on the cap (I guess) They are both at 100% and come across the t30 and it smokes both of them before the cap hits 100%

How the heck do you suck so bad (they had been platooned) that one t30 can take out two full health 8.8jg tigers?

But all in all it was not too bad a weekend, with that big slow moving ferdi with the stock gun and stock engine I just sat at the base for the most part and guarded arty (gasp)....but now with that big gun....wow. I did 1400 damage to a ST1 (I think that was it)....that thing has some punch behind it.

Also had the best game to date in my PZII.....4500xp and 20000silver....not bad for a tier 2 tank.

I find myself wanting to advance SOME of my higher tier tanks, but having the most fun with the small tanks. The most fun games are tier 5 and below.

I didn't have to ask why you want the truck gone. I knew what you were after. It's that kind of teamwork that can swing battles in a hurry....that and ammo racking almost full health IS-3's..... Speaking of IS-3's, I should find and post the replay of a run Ed and I had in our IS-3's on Himmelsdorf this weekend.

I sold the SU26this weekend. the nerf made it really not fun any more. I picked up the French thing on sale in it's stead. 2nd battle in the stupid thing and I'm at the very top of the heap in a tier 3 arty I got 2 kills before about 6 lights steamrolled right into me.

I did not have a good weekend on WoT. a few wins, but man did I end up with some sucky teams.

Ok, guys, I'm having a bit of a conundrum this morning. I'm 12K xp away from getting the big gun for the M103, which gives me enough to go ahead and put the big engine in the beast now. The big engine is critical path to the T110E5. Do I stay the course and get the Tier X gun (better accuracy and pen, slightly better ROF), or is the increased acceleration worth grabbing? What says the wisdom of the collective?

Gun.

The gun will earn you the XP faster for the engine.

The engine will get you places faster to die early with a smaller gun, thus earning less XP.

---

So what if you don't get places faster? Use it like a TD, and to snipe like you have been doing, since even you admitted the M103 isn't a city brawler. I've seen plenty of games won with that play-style by a guy I used to platoon with who never really seemed to get very far with his Lowe, but who won a ton of battles in it.

I had full-camo on my M103 crew as well. I think it helped a lot, but I didn't keep the tank long enough to make up for the losses incurred from back when the T34 was the tier 9 and I didn't have it fully researched (those stats got transferred to the M103 I believe), nor from the losses from not having the big gun on the M103. But I felt it was a great tank with the big gun, and wished I could have kept it to better my win ratio with it. I think i had finally crawled up to a 50% win ratio with it when I sold it, but the tank is capable of so much better.

I as going to say, get the engine. More speed is better, get to the fight sooner.

I have to agree with Dave's point though, more damage dealt earns you more XP.

The increase from 242 to 269 pen is the difference between a 50% chance to pen the front of an IS-4 and the 90% chance to do the same.

I'm glad this came up, I'll have to check the guns I'm using.
I usually try to keep the tank light and fast, that just gets me dead sooner. I also go for a faster reload speed, vs. damage dealt.

I'm a decent shot, I don't always need the fast reload, I may be giving up XP and kills that I'm unaware of.

You need to read this...
http://wiki.worldoftanks.com/Battle_...ics#Camouflage

And this...
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...BVlJDSlE#gid=4

Note that those numbers assume you are not firing your gun. When you fire, your camo factor decreases by a factor of ~3 and bushes cease to exist.

Also, German tanks have horrible camo. Don't try to rely on it.

This is nice....I was just thinking about going back to the SU-85 and starting a second Russian TD crew. Might have to do it now.

I would also say gun. I got the gun just as soon as I could with the JS3...and now that the crew is skilled up I have made some pretty darn long shots with that....400m+.

I might end up keeping the JS3 as well....not sure yet.

Same here. I liked the SU85, but the 100 isn't all that great.

Keeper tanks?
E8
Cromwell (fun, but I get stupid in it)
Stug III
M46 Patton (same as the Cromwell, but costs way more to be stupid)

Oh yeah. Gratuitous bike riding in the winter pic
