I might have a spare 450 watt power supply. I had one go bad a while ago, picked it up and found a bad mobo. If you see me logged in WoT remind me to look. I won't remember otherwise.

I know I have one that is more than 450 in the garage, the problem is that computer died and I was never able to figure out what had died on it so I just hung onto it as a case with random parts for when I build another one down the road.

note: all power supplies aren't the same. If it is older there are chances it won't even have a 6 pin connector ala the type video cards use. make sure you have the connectors the card you buy needs!

...there are adapters.

I think it does, even though I built it about 8 years ago.

This will help you identify what you have.. what you need will depend on the card

New ATX PSUs moved from a 20-pin to a 24-pin connector, and also have independent power connectors for the CPU.

I think it was around 2006 when those things were added. I may be wrong. That whole decade was a blur.

you are gonna make me dig out that old computer and look aren't you...

I know that it was a 20 + 4 connector for the motherboard, and none of the ends were white. GEEZ....

For example: a 285 is about the same speed as a 640 because the 8 was the fastest of the 2 series - the 4 is one of the slowest of the 6 series. What you do get with the 6 series is better power consumption (less) and less noise.

In the higher end cards for example, a 560 is significantly faster than a 650 - even though it is older.
With the slower cards - the newer models are *usually* better.

ATI cards are usually cheaper for cards with similar benchmark numbers; that said I've had so many issues with ATI Catalyst drivers over the years I avoid them when I can (the irony being I went to school with one of the guys that wrote the original Mach ATI drivers).

Here is another Benchmark site to give you an idea of what cards fit where:
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
Like with any benchmark there is fluctuation depending on what exactly is doing what (one card may be faster doing A but slower doing B) - but it gives you the general idea of where cards fit in the overall picture (consider the ratio as opposed to the exact number)

.
So I went to find the link for the video card I bought back in December... Man, I bought at the right time. I got the GTX 570 for $199.99. They're selling the exact same card for $388.80 now.

It's a great card. I'm running around 80-100 fps on Max settings. I definitely got a steal there at $199.99 shipped.

well, I just was in a game where a KV2 was telling me (arty) to reset cap. I told him "no"...

his response was this is a team game.

I just told him that I was dead and he was an idot.

he was like... "well ****"

we ended up wining anyways because they were able to out cap.

I had a fella in a KV5 hollerin that he wanted everyone to take the hill in Campinoka. I opted out and sat overlooking the cap in my T25at (binocs and net) and he spent the rest of the game yelling at me for not supporting the thrust, saying mommy bought my TD (he's in a KV5), and bragging how much money he makes. He died early. I called him a wallet warrior that had no skills and ignored his all caps rant to both teams. I reset the cap twice, killed thier scout, and was one of the last to die in a losing battle.

If anyone needs a powersupply, I have a couple taking up shelf space. You're for shipping costs. All work. I'll get the wattage tonight.

Also have some older memory chips and other crap, all for the price of shipping. Or pick up in NH.

For those of us in the tournament, take a look at the final schedule at the link below:

http://worldoftanks.com/uc/tournamen...ass_Challenge/

They added 3 more days, March 3rd, 5th, and 7th for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.

And as a reminder, we are scheduled to play tomorrow night, Feb 23rd at 9PM EST. Be on TS around 8:30PM EST, or earlier if you want to run any practice.

Likewise to Unga, I just took out my 350 Watt power supply if anyone wants it. Made by Sparkle.

On the subject of tanks I finally got the T54. I fucking hated the T44 and never played it so it took while to build up enough research credits. I forked over some gold and immediately put the big gun and turret on the T54 and am loving it. I equipped it with vent and rammer and plan to add the stabilizer when my silver acct recovers. I rarely live through the end of a battle with it since it seems people swarm to me like flies which lets my team swoop around and ass rape them. I just need the bigger engine now.

Back to computers. I have an older ATI Radeon HD 6900 w/ 2G on board memory. Processor is an Intel i5-2500k at 3.3 GHz and 8G of RAM. Homebuilt. I get about 60fps running everything on high.
