I had to teach some enemy tier 2 tanks last night that they will lose in a pushing contest against me if their cannon only bounce off my armor. If you're facing a higher tiered TD right in his face... go around! I got 4 easy kills just by the little guys trying to assault my front.

Had a 5 game winning streak and a bunch of extra free xp, so i started up a U.S. tank line... not sure if i want to go the heavy route or the high tier mediums.

So far I've found Live Oaks more challenging / unfamiliar. I enjoy both, but the Italian map I've found to need different tactics depending on which side you spawn. Sniping from your eastern side if you start on the northeast corner works, where-as an immediate south-eastward attack, limited by stopping to fire from safe positions, from the southwest spawn seems to work better than sniping from the west side.

I don't know why, but that's what I've surmised from starting and winning from either side. Capping on the Italian map seems like a last-option best held off until most of your forces have the upper-hand, where one guy can go sit and cap while the others hold the op-team back to their side.... so that map seems to require an engagement from beginning to end. (Note: this is for tier 10-, 9-, and 8-high battles, not tier 2 grunge-fests)

The new Italian map is sniper city. I haven't played Live Oaks enough to really figure it out yet.

The Italian map must be the one that you start on the top of the hills. I did a charge witth my 3601 with a T25 and had Stand covering me with his arty. Best game of the night . Got 85% more XP then anyone else. Master what ever award. I was happy.

I like the Italian map as well. I've won from both sides when I get on a team of snipers.

My first time on the map I got the confederate and 3rd class mastery awards with my PzIV.

They seem to be mixing up the maps a little bit after the update. Never saw tier V tanks on mines....and tier II tanks on steppss before.

Yeah, that's a hard lesson to learn - like they say about pilots, TD's without turrets seem the same: "There are old TD drivers, and bold TD drivers, but there aren't any old and bold TD drivers left at the end of a battle."

Once I got to the JagdPanther TD I realized I didn't have what it took to let battles develop and just sit back waiting for my chance to influence the battle. I sold my last non-turreted TD, and only occasionally think about buying one back again.

...

Malinovka, 10 minutes ago - I just got yelled at by a Pzk IV who died early, then the only other tier 8 on our team, an IS-3 who didn't read into the MM distribution of tanks (enemy had two type 59's), who also died shortly there-after. Noob-this, T34 should have done that, it didn't end... until I rolled the whole way to their base, unmolested, unseen, and got the Invader award with the heaviest and slowest tank on the field.

Getting called a noob by guys who don't know how to win gets annoying.

Last night, I was playing a match in my 107 armed KV.....had a full health T-50-2 come up and start shooting me in the side. Guy was dumb enough to sit still long enough for me to get the turret around on him. One-shot him at about 25 meters, and he and the rest of his team start going off about how the 107 is a derp and the 152 is a much better choice of gun for the KV.

Maybe if the only maps you played were Himmelsdorf, Ensk and Ruinberg.....

Edit:

Weekend specials posted....

50% off barracks
50% off equipment
50% off JagdPz IV, Jagdpanther, Easy 8, T20

I wasn't sure back when I was newer, but now I will say that the 107 brings much more to random-map battles for teams than does the 152mm. The 152 brings fun to the player, but the 107 is the more tactically advantageous gun.
