Those who Russian Heavies... KV-5 special this weekend is worthwhile, for its credit earning potential, 6 crew training slots and somewhat favorable matchmaking (tier 9 max).

There isn't much credit earning potential when you have to use Gold rounds so often.

Trust me on this.

The KV-5 sometimes surprises, even in defeat.

And then throws up a worst ever!

The same is true for the IS-6 and it's tier 8 gun, which by the way has major issues penning a tier 10. And for those of you who don't know look at the match making on the WIKI, they removed the special match making for the IS-6.

It was awesome seeing so many in TS and in the game last night that there were to many to do a tank company with...

Really?!?!?!

I had a clan mate telling me it had preferential all night, and out of the seven or so game we played it seemed to have it. Max we saw were just a few tier 9's.

He kept pushing me to buy one since it got preferential treatment (and since he had one), so that's why I'm surprised it doesn't. Would have pissed me off to no end to have bought it and found myself in a tier ten match with it.

Re: the KV-5 ...

You must have had better shots than I. I took a lot of shots, but primarily to all tier 8's, and it became apparent that from the distances I was having to shoot the penetration was lacking - so time to dive in to those ~18 Gold rounds I had to try to win the game against the remaining T69 and the Super Pershing that was capping.

I have not seen tier 10's unless I am platooned, but when I bought it the spread sheet showed preferential match making and now it does not. I do not normally play the IS-6 unless I am platooned and now that I have the IS-3 I grab that one first due to the damage it can deal compared to the IS-6.

I can not tell you definitavely that it no longer has the special match making. It is a fun tank to run, and makes credits when not shooting more than 5 gold rounds on a win, I have made a boat load of money in a battle with it. My biggest problem with it is the lack of the radio operators slot for training a KV-1S crew. Because of this last, I am seriously thinking about buying a Churchill III.

Allow me to summarize this morning - amongst all tanks I've played, but through my last three with the KV-4:

If you can't do your tank's HP worth of damage in your tier 8, don't play it. If you're a 45%'er, for the love of Dog don't platoon with your friends.

Is that because your body processed all the al-co-hall we drunked last night, or because you actually learned?
