You just can't run a Hetzer or any TD alongside turret tanks. It's best to stay back, find a hiding place and snipe long distance.
Use the good 75mm gun. Mix of AP, HE and Gold (for emergencies)
Camo net - to hide
Rammer - you need to inflict max damage in minimal time
Binoculars - you will be stationary a lot of time and need long view for sniping.
Crew perks of 6 Sense, camo, clutch brake and deadeye.
Read up on camoflage, bushes, hiding, ambushing etc.

You can hit out to 500 meters by yourself or across most maps with scouts from behind bushes/rocks while the tanks keep the OPFOR too busy to notice you. Watch for Arty, it can get you once you fire.
Unless I get TFMs for my side, I can get 3 to 4 kills. Best was 7 so far.

Dear God that M40 packs a punch! What a fun tank. You were right, Papalobster. I can't wait to get the big gun on it and see how big of a hole the M43 makes. T10s are mine! (As well as hubris, apparently.)

Also was able to get the M4 too. Last night. Got the 150mm on it this morning as well as the new tracks and engine. Reload is slow, but I held a whole flank against four for long enough that my arty killed three of them and I got the fourth. Of course those first four were backed up by three more that ganked me quick, but it's effective on the battlefield.

For me, the ELC AMX and Wolverine are the best money makers. Though looking at that link, the T1 and T49 should be as well. I'm grinding towards the T1 currently, but not the T49. Should I? Anybody fall in love with the T49?

Seems like this should be something on the list of key controls or in the training mission.......but I digress.
Have you read the game mechanics and crew wikis? If not, don't play again until you have read them. That goes for all of you guys that just started playing. There is a lot explained there that isn't really explained anywhere else.

some skills only start working when you hit 100% on the skill. Many of them start working immediately.
The Crew wiki is great. it has good suggestions for the type of tank the crew is in.

AFTER you have your crew at the INITIAL 100%. ....just trying to make sure he doesn't get confused again :-)

To summarize:

1) zero perks or skills do anything until you get your crew to 100% first - think of this as their "BASIC Training".
This is the 100% that you can buy with gold or by 75% with silver or 50% free when you first buy a tank or a crew member.
You are buying that crew BASIC training.

AFTER the crew is at 100% on BASIC training:

2) THEN you select their first skill and they START learning it. They are at ZERO percent on their first skill.
3) Some perks will not kick in until that first skill is again up to 100% (i.e. 200%) - Brothers In Arms and Six Sense are examples of this.
4) Once you've learned that first skill you are then back to zero percent.. and you start learning your 2nd skill. This takes twice as long as the first one did.
5) repeat.

Brothers in Arms will not kick in until EVERY crew member has it at 100%.

I don't think I can get through the T49 this weekend, but I'll try. Not too far from eliting the Hetzer.

New RAM has been delivered! Hopefully that fixes my problems.

I was so burnt out from the random pub teams I was dealing with during the x5, I ceased playing x5 - or, really, tanks at all - and haven't even tried to play again until just today.

So I missed out on the sales, I missed out on the XP, I missed out on all of it. And, again, I spent some time wondering what MMO game to go to that I could 'win' or gain, and feel at least somewhat rewarded, without having to rely on the average other player.

I may never be the brightest or best game player, but I'll be damned if I'm going to keep subjecting myself to what I did in the time I did play x5's that weekend.

perfect thanks guys!!!! Looking forward to pumping up my tanks. Have been only using basic training because I have been too cheap to spend money. But with the maddy and the t18 that I am keeping it will be cool to have the perks and such

What XVM are you using? That's the screen I really want, but I don't have it with whatever I'm using.
