So I played 8 games in the AT-15A yesterday. Won 7 of them. But efficiency wise, I did very poor. Thoughts on the matter:

• Big Brit TDs draw a crowd. Folk rightly think of it as a huge shield they can march behind. This means that the AT often gets just two shots off; the escort is quick to snatch up the enemy health pool.

• Consequently, the enemy is scared shitless when they show up. We had one match where I assaulted the center of Abbey, which was held by 4 enemy tanks. I tracked one, and by the time he was dead, the other three had scattered.

• The driver only gets to flex once per game on account of speed. It has to be at the most decisive map position. A vigilant artillery will know this, and prepare. Fortunately, vigilant artillery players don't actually exist in mid-tiers.

• Despite all that, the vehicle (with it's ever-present rear guard) has a ton of initiative. The gun fires 3 times as fast as a T28 or T95 - enemies that try to flank during reload are easily tracked.

• The clincher: once the battle is decided, your rear guard runs off and mops up. You drive towards cap - if lucky, ya pick up some purple points before the timer goes out.

Profits (non-Premium):
Best win: +41k credits
Average win: +14k credits
On the loss: +3k credits

Typical DPG: 600-800
Best DPG: 3k

I enjoyed being one of those distasteful escorts. How else was I going to get Top Gun.

And yes, watching them scatter on Abbey was great fun.

Apparently they have been talking about it for over a year, but it looks as if 8.7 will finally remove the T-50-2 from the game.

http://ftr.wot-news.com/2013/06/27/s...t-50-2-switch/

More of the same talk I have seen on the WoT forums, and message boards everywhere since I started playing, but then this video confirms it for 8.7:

http://worldoftanks.com/en/news/33/ASAP-no-comments/

The swap and how it is happening doesn't seem to be completely communicated currently. I am not sure why existing T-50 experience would move to the Kv-1s.

Really has me not looking forward to adding the Bulldog and adjusting the Chaffee.

You sell yourself too short, good sir! You got 7 kills in one game, and 6 in the next. I was there. Your T25/2 was a force and your play was memorable. Great games, sir. If it wasn't for you, we three wouldn't have gone 9 for 9. And I heard you and Janeuner went 11 for 11 before we lost that last game and broke up. Great playing with you both! I seem to remember one of you saying, "Where'd they go?" at one point, when the enemy team ran out of tanks and we hadn't killed our usual 8 of them.

That said, I rocked over 1900 efficiency -- even with my inability to get a win in the AMX12t last night. I played 6 matches or so in the 12t, top 3 damage for five of them, five kills in two, and still no wins. Yardgnome and I just couldn't win with the 12t and T69 or 12t and T30 combo last night. But we had a blast!

Edit: Sauce:

Note that I never used the word distasteful.

Remember, the one loss. I advanced with two allies in tow. The heavier ally chickened out. The other ally got focus fire. My AT was knocked out seconds later.

That TD is really just a fat linebacker - something else needs to carry the ball. Anything with DPM. If it felt like I was carrying y'all, think again. I was hopeless without an escort.

Despite being top 4 or better for damage per game, currently 1/4. And I'm sober. So it's definitely a no win situation

First time back after several months off.

1. I forgot how to play
2. The game is different
3. Of course during one of my good battles with my T34, my stupid wireless antenna disconnects. Again.

Ah the feeling of true rage at electrons again.

Not as good as you guys but I was impressed with myself!

OK, I am not as good as you guys but since I don't record battles you just got to believe me that the last 10 or 15 seconds of my life in this battle was pretty impressive as far as I was concerned. They broke through on the left flank and I was the last man standing took out 6 or the 7 in about 15 seconds as they swarmed me. One finally got behind me and got me. Sort of figured I would get a "Cool Head" award too guess they could not shot very well. I love the little 76mm gun on this thing. Fast reload and pretty good damage you just have to shoot them a couple times in the right spot which I was doing.

These days, they're integrated into XVM and Jimbo's. Outside of that, a search on Curse is all I can recommend.
