so, sometime today (saturday) I should have my T21 eleated, then to just save up the 1.4 million for the T71.

I did pick up the E2 today, it is fun right out of the box, I loved the first game where I soloed a T150 then a KV1s, to bad it was a loss... anyways, looking forward to getting the tracks, turret and big gun for it.

First game of 8.6 - 5196 damage loss

Thanks for the list of mods Norm

Some mods I had and liked but don't have now, anyone have a link:

1) red line on minimap mod
2) visual range rings on minimap mod
3) tank IDs on minimap
4) tanks last known location on minimap

now that I think about it.. they might all be part of the same mod?

Welcome back!

That is the minimap mod in XVM.

Congrats on the nuptials, sir! Best of everything to you and yours.

I sent you a message on page 606 about pink airplanes.

"that is the minimap mod in xvm"
meaning?

I have the new XVM installed - do I just need to edit the .conf and turn it on?

time to go look through the .conf

I tried world of warplanes and I don't get it....
no flight controls.. no rudder control... just a "move the cursor around the screen" and click boost now and then.

VERY console.
NOT very flight sim.

The game feels very shallow compared to WoT.
Where's the strategy? Where's the team work? Where's the skill (other than arcade skills).
Am I missing something because I'm quite disappointed

If there were some real'esque flying skills involved.. being able to go vertical, chop the throttle, and kick the rudder and stall turn onto an enemy, etc... It would be so much more interesting. Make it so you have to land and take off for fuel and ammo, etc.

I installed the XVM and only get one circle on the mini map. Previously I had one that gave gun line, haul line, view distance etc. Is that a different one?

Load your config file up in the Config Editor and there is a minimap tab to get all that stuff back. If you need help, I can upload my config file and you can just steals it. It's super simple - not too far from the base game, because I like my screen uncluttered.

Agreed, if you're using mouse controls. I put up a review here. Having played the game a ton more since that review, I came to a conclusion: World of Tanks is 50% tactics and 50% strategy; World of Warplanes is 75% tactics and 25% strategy. (Aside: hopefully this means WoWS will be 75% strategy and 25% tactics.) What I mean is that a single pilot who knows how to use his plane in the way you describe easily gets Ace (Equivalent award as Top Gun) or more kills, whereas top tankers don't get Top Gun or Poole's every round. If you wished that teams let you down less, hop on over to WoWP and let your tactical mastery shine. Shallow? From a strategic level, probably shallower than WoT, but I have only got to Tier 6 so far, so take that comment with a grain of salt. But in terms of personal tactics, I find it to be leagues deeper than WoT. Unfortunately, I suck as a pilot.

Warning: learning how to digitally fly is a lot harder than learning how to drive a tank for me. Also, get a joystick with throttle control.

The strategy is starting to really shine at tiers 5 and 6. And then on Monday they'll reset before I get a 7 unlocked. I'm going to play my P-39 and P-36 and Zero a ton this weekend because they're so stupidly fun and I wont have them next week.

and I attempted to match Brian's score, but unfortunately I fell a little short of the mark.

Nice work! I too have been on a roll. Like when a plane in WoWP gets knocked out, rolls over and land darts.

I like the SU-100Y. Of course, an 81% game helps.
