The calendar is still there, however it is about useless now. They are now so generic in what events are going on between this and that date that it is useless.

Just had an awesome game in the T-54.

Wish I had recorded it - I only now see that people were talking to me when I was 'in the zone' and just focused on making a win out of the impending loss (I took the first in-game screen shot just to record the disparity between team members' WN7 levels, impressed that I was still alive).

Their team seemed better than ours at the start... so much so that I typed "gg?" at the beginning thinking there was no place I was going to be able to hide my tank to even stay alive long with a team like the one I had. With their three T-54's, two of them very good, and our Patton refusing to take the hill (then doing the predicted minimal damage), I was sure that I was going to die on the hill early.

But I did have a few good guys, and they stepped up to do what they needed to up on Himmelsdorf hill.

I don't think our Patton thought we could win it. Now he owes me gold I guess.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I still contend that this is great damage for a medium based on what a medium should be doing. Considering that the best tier 9 heavies and TD's didn't do any more damage, this turned out to be a nice first game after getting home from work.

I think I am going to sell my T54E1 and T69. The T57 may be great, but the 54E1 is awful, and does nothing but cost me money. :(
I wasn't trying to start a trend, but yesterday I did wake up to the notion that it's probably better for me to find the tanks that align to my play style and skills, rather than try to force my play style and skills to whatever tank comes next. Just a different paradigm for me, and a less stubborn one which will improve my enjoyment of the game, I hope. If I'm going to spend time, effort, and money on something, I hope I'm having fun - and I just wasn't with those. There are a few other tanks I'm eyeballing for a cull, but nothing so drastic as yesterday's sell.

Happy tanking!

I did that a few months before I joined FYYFF - in a weeks time I sold 12 tanks.
I slightly miss one or two, and can always get them back if the urge hits, but 10 of them - pffft I wonder why I even bothered.

See, this is more my style. A good, solid TOG battle.

I ponder which way to go as the T-28 makes an ass out of himself with bad driving. I decide to head south, figuring the other heavies will engage before me, and a fresh tap-out will be welcome by the time I get there. My hunch proves correct, and I slug it out with the Jagd, then start going after targets of opportunity. The replay on my machine w/capture starts lagging by then, so your view isn't quite the same as mine, and you miss the flow of those rapid kills I stole, but hopefully you get the point.

My most experience in a loss.

It's 1.5 right? So I would've got 1281?

Be patient and platoon....Tier 8 battles are different, but they can be learned. Keep the T34 and come back to it after you have a bit more experience.

I thought the same thing....there is a very different style of play at the higher tiers.

Never say die.

First minute of the round I get a kill but get nuked by arti - 1 hit point left.
The battle goes on.. it ends up 4 of us against 9 of them.
Kris already dropped to the garage.
John and I are 2 of the remaining 4.

John gets a kill.
They get a kill.
I get a kill.
They get another kill.

6 minutes remaining: we are down to 7 of them vs. 2 of us... I still have 1 hit point.

Long story short - we win. John sets up in a brilliant spotting position and I nuke them as he detects them.
I get spotted and in trouble twice and both times John saves me with a kill before they can take my last HP.
I end up with 6 kills and John has 3.
Team work FTW!
