Basically, Pen and damg are mutually exclusive. think about rolling the dice in a pen and paper game.
Roll a 20 to hit, and you automatically hit. Then you roll a 1 for damage, and don't get any damage. Still sucks though.

Also, you may have hit a critical component that was already damaged. If you took out the turret, you can't take it out again until it's been fixed. This may reset the repair timer, but that isn't confirmed.
This happens to me all the time in my M7 with the 6-pounder because I aim at critical components and it has good pen, but low dmg. I don't worry about it too much though since I can put a shot on target every 2 seconds. I've given a lot of heavies 'Steel Wall'

Also, Premium does absolutely nothing related to gameplay. I play both basic and premium and my tanks take and receive dmg exactly the same either way. It only affects the amount if cred and exp you get.
Other games have tried that crap and failed miserably because no one wants to play basic and they loose the people like me who eventually switch over. and they lose the premium players because there is no one to play against.

Wargaming is making a ton of $ because they didn't go there.

Perhaps....it would not be good business to do that...but something has to be going on....I can't remember the tank I was playing PZ IV with the long 75 I think. Perhaps that is why I like the sherman with the 105 (i think) over the 76. And it is not bad at putting rounds on target across the map....not good but not that bad.

The one thing that gets me more then anything is the arty.

One game this weekend I was the last man standing....in the little sherman again with tier 7-9 tanks on the other side...IIRC 6 or so of them....no real point...but I did have camo and binocs....drove over to their base just in time to see one arty start a mad dash to get some cap points.....boom you are dead....then the other lights up...turning to get me....boom you are dead....boy there was a lot of yelling going on.....all I said was if you did not play arty you would have lived ....started another storm till they finished capping my base....god I hate arty...even the arty on my own team. Only time I stay with them is when I play TD and I am again outclassed.

I'm taking the clan to DC for vacation Thursday, so I'm gonna miss out on any specials.

I played quite a bit last night, but don't remember most of it cuz I spent the day watching the superbikes at Road America while trying to hydrate with Lienenkugel. Huge and miserable fail!

So now that I've upped to the Grille, I like playing artillery. Especially with Tier6 and below. Key is to not stop moving, although I've started getting good at hitting tanks on the run.

If you get hit once, by artillery, move. I'm reloading if the first shot didn't kill you. Take cover, because you've been spotted by someone on my team, which means I can see you. Look at the direction the hit came from. Look around and trying to find something to block a shot from that direction.

You have about 10 seconds between hits. The Grille can do 600+ damage per hit. Tier 5 TDs and below are normally a one hit deal.
