Oh the heartache.....came down to me and 5 enemy tanks. Got all but one...and if he would have bounced or I could have gotten one more shot in it would have been a win. I was going to switch to gold rounds, but had too many of them coming in at me all at once. 2000 potential damage received and 1500 served out.

Good battles last night. 77% win rate. Oldnx giving me shit was priceless I actually had a Jagdpanzer E100 bounce a shot of the front of my T28 from 200 or so meters. Bet he was pissed

My 24 hour efficiency going in last night was at like 680 or so, just freakin terrible.

Current 24 hour is 1500 and 1599 WN7!

Lot's of damage per tier, but a low kill rate. I blame Smithy and Jon for stealing my kills

Alas, I will be away this weekend yet again. Otherwise the Stug would get a workout again.

You'll love the 704. I only got out of it so fast, because I really wanted the 268, but the 704 plays very very well, imho. Good luck!

I need some more advice.

How do you fight tier 8's with a tier 6?
I can't pen the frontal armor of an 8. Sometimes I can flank them but not often enough.
Is HE a better round in that situation?
I don't use gold rounds.

I sit back and wait now when in the same situation. The HE rounds generally have less pen than the regular rounds

Wait until they are engaged then flank. If you're that low and not in a scout you need to follow some heavies.

Sometimes I'll try to scout. A tier 6 heavy isn't a very good scout though
I wondered if the higher damage of HE might help. I've started carrying some but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Convert your t6 to a Hellcat, flank, & pen.

Depending on what you are driving, MOVE! if you are in something with speed, go to the other side of the map and cause hell over there.

Pages and pages ago I got this advice. I now wreak havoc from the bottom of matchmaking in my t5&6. Sometimes I get smacked down easily, but it's been generally successfull. Move, shoot, move shoot, flank, kill & profit.

This.

Matchmaking isn't usually totally effed up - the opposing team has tanks you can pen, you just aren't in the right place. Don't be afraid to fall back and redeploy elsewhere. Living to fight and kill the opposition isn't cowardice, it is just smart.

It is also part of the reason I stopped adding tanks and grinding to higher tiers. I need to know the tanks - what I can pen with what round and where. When to track them and gtfo vs. trade shots and angle myself so theirs should bounce.

This is also why I generally prefer faster tanks with shorter reload times - A KV-1S with the derp gun is fun in a tier 6 battle, but painful as hell in a tier 8. A Hellcat or easy 8 is fun no matter what the battle.
