I have the k60's on my bike and love em. They're much better than the stock tourance exp's on gravel. The only thing is they wear a lil quicker.

Tire recommendations? The vast majority of my riding is on the street, with lots of freeway commuting. I do like to take gravel/fire roads from time to time, so I don't think I want to go to a street-only tire.
damn, I have never been able to get more than 5k out of a rear tire no matter what the bike.
How do you get 12500 out of that is beyond me. I was going to suggest Anakees - love them in the wet (pavement), and everything but mud. I was happy when I got 5k from mine. Right now I have TKC 80 and love them even on the street and wet pavement - handle great for a knobby - but i don't think I'll get more than 3k out of the rear.

Tires

On the topic of tires... Im looking for more of a 50/50 to replace my Tourances... Any suggestions?

I also have heard good things about the K60's - Has anyone else used them?

Thanks

I like the IRC GP-1 tires, great onroad grip and handling, not too noisy and good offroad. Check the motorcycle superstore for reviews on them.

My "baby" F800 GS came with the PIrelli Scorpions and I put the Heine's on there. I like them a lot.

My "baby" G650 GS came with Michelin Anakee II's and I also like them. Got more miles out of them but the Heine's are much better in gravel, sand.... etc.,

The Heine is the one on top in the picture. Notice the wide rubber patch in the center. That's what makes it a decent street tire.

I've put about 4k miles on an Anakee 2 on the front and a non EXP Tourance on the rear. I've gone through two sets of Merzlers and wanted to try the Anakees but they are impossible to find.
I like the Anakee much better on the front. Better in the rain and has a softer stickier feel to it overall and better off road. I'd still like to try the rear but I've read that the rears don't hold up as well as the Tourance in the rear. So maybe one of each is the way to go.

That's an 80-20, not a 50-50.

Heck, got 16,000 out of my last set of Tourances, only reason I replaced them-did a 2500 mile bike trip and wanted new rubber before I left.
Got 4,000 miles on my Pirelli Scorpions (wanted to try something new) and they still look new.
2009 G650gs, 30,000+ miles no issues :-)

From NE Ohio, USA

Picked up a white G650GS titled 2013 a few days ago. Already have over 100 trouble free miles on it! Traded my '02 R1150RT in on it. That RT was getting taller and heavier! I'm an old man. I really like this bike. I have an old service manual ordered for it but can not really find one for the most modern bike. BMW wants over $100 for the BMW service manual DVD. Too much. Any ideas? I do my own maintenance and need to learn about these 650 singles.
Thanks.

This free service manual should cover most of the bike. http://f650.com/forum/showthread.php...Service-Manual

I see an Anakee/Tourance as a 90-10 and a Sirac/K60 as an 80-20 or 70/30 at best if you are more skilled.

A TKC80 is a 50-50

As is an IRC GP-1.

And a Michelin T63

Thanks - I have the TKC80 on my list too. Seems to be quite popular.
Where I live, the TKC is actually much cheaper than the K60's.

The K60 Scout is a 50/50 tire.
