Nice vid! Two bears in one day and the scenery is outstanding!
Good luck on your trip south.
One of these days I am going to make that trip!
In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through you.

I see your getting one or already have a new F800 GS? I do like them but having a hard time giving up the KLR. It's been so good to me that I have to stay with it for a few more trips.

Some of the bikes at the BCBATR in Harrison Hot Springs.

I already have it. I bought it a few weeks ago. It's different yet similar riding than the KLR, but I will never give KLaRissa up.
The BMW has 85HP, whereas the KLR is around 37HP. So a hugh power difference but not much difference in weight.
My KLR might weigh more because of the stuff I added and the stuff I carry on it.
I know how the KLR handles in the dirt, sand and gravel, but I have yet to ride the BMW in such conditions.
I'm actually worried about riding it in those conditions because of the power it has that I am not used to.
When I retire and do more traveling by motorcycle, I'll take the KLR. Especially if (scratch that and put WHEN instead of if) I travel south through Mexico and such.
I envy you for the trips you take on your bike and the scenery you're seeing.
Maybe one day we'll cross paths or even travel together.
Don't give up your KLR though. She's a true ADV bike that will get you everywhere.

I rode a F800 in Baja last year and did like it, it felt more like a street bike than a enduro bike because it was so smooth riding it. A beauty bike though, lucky you and I'm sure you'll have many fun rides with it. You have any pictures you want to share of it?

Here she is at the dealer before I bought her

Here she is under the Garden State Parkway in NJ with my friend's Tenere in the back

I just have to name her yet.
Naming the KLR KLaRissa was easy.
Other than BartholoMeW, there are really no names to incorporate BMW into it.
And I won't name her BartholoMeW! LOL
I guess I'll have to make up a new name.
I'm actually taking her to Shenandoah in Virginia two weekends from now.
It will be our first motocamping trip together.
I put Continental TKC80 tires on her for the trails, and am waiting for the Vario cases, handguards and skid plate to be delivered.
I've already installed the Garmin Zumo 350LM and engine guards.
But enough about my bike. This is your thread.
Keep the pictures and videos coming.
You have a great playground to ride in!

I'm liking that color, that's cool looking. I would be worried myself about taking that off/road. I'm sure I would get myself in some sort of trouble at full throttle. When I dump my KLR while riding nothing ever seems to break, the crash bars and luggage rack in the rear seem to work good.

I would name it Hornet...............F800 Hornet

The official name of the color is Kalamata Metallic, and yeah. Dropping the BMW could be costly.
Damn parts are so expensive.
I've dropped KLaRissa many times and she still treats me good. Even though she broke my leg back in April.

I'm liking the name. I'm going to ponder that for awhile considering I'm a student pilot.

I have my pilots license but it's so expensive to go flying now. Anything thats fun seems to cost a lot except my KLR

Tell me about it.
I started flight training about 10 years ago. I have about 61 hours, did my solo and night flights, but have yet to do the solo cross country and take the written and oral exams.
Money and time are an issue for me.
The cost for one hour with instructor in a 2 seat Cessna 152 is $143.
Beings that I work shift work and some weekends makes it difficult to schedule flying time.
I doubt I'll ever finish.

Getting excited about my trip back to Mexico with 2 months to go from today. I have been watching some video and I love riding those long straight stretches of desert that seem to go on forever...........................
