CB350 electrical troubleshooting.

Hi Guys, Playing around with an old honda CB350 twin. Just noticed while out riding tonight that the tail light goes out when the engine is rev'd up. Works fine with the engine idling or off.

I'm thinking something voltage regulator is causing it, but would love some pointers if its a common problem.

Thanks

Nevermind. I figured it out. The tail light filament was loose. It was just vibration causing it. A new bulb will fix it.

From my reading the diodes were marginal and do not age well, there is a cheap home remedy using parts from Radio Shack. Need a new source but worth looking up. Much better than stock, cheap easy fix.
I remember something from a Honda site about electronic ignition and coils. Something about Dyna and Martel duration robbing higher rpm power when used with stock coils. Not sure how important this is ( May have been from four cylinder site).

Honda Twins Site

Go to the HondaTwins site. Member there selling modern voltage R/R just for 350's (Sonreir). VERY reasonable and a "must" upgrade. Good Luck!
