Oh mama! Wish I didn't have to go have dinner later with the whole graduation clan at the Compound... I'd rather load up on this instead! Oh well, at least I'll get to see some friends, which is what it's really all about anyway!

![]() OK to reiterate: we will meet at Honstein Oil (11 Paseo Real aka Airport Road, just East of Airport/599) at 10:45 in the AM. Kickstands up at 11. From there we will slab over to the east side NF boundary at CR62/FR24 (about 10 minutes away). We will exit Caja Del Rio on the South side, about 10 minutes from Captain Rick's house. There's a pit toilet at the NF boundary if needed before we start the ride. Bring a snack/lunch, or just work up an appetite for the BBQ. ![]() The ride is about 60 miles, depending on last minute route changes (i.e. lack of navigation skills on my part ). Again this will be a relaxed pace, see-the-sights ride with plenty of stops/breaks. If you desire something more heroic and/or cardiac, I refer you to Downhill Dave's Buckman singletrack ride

Buckmans Parking Lot Directions
Coming from 285/84 (the major N-S artery thru SFe) :
1. Take the exit for 599 and go 3.8 miles to the west and take the Camino La Tierra exit and at bottom of ramp turn right2. Stay on Camino La Tierra thru a 4-way stop sign and then a windy road (it winds) for about 7 miles. (If u go under an overpass u took an exit!) 3. About 1/3 of a mile after you pass on the right the development La Tierra Nueva, a guard house, and its tennis court, the gravel road "Old Buckman Road" is on right side.4. Follow the dirt road past a cattle guard and auxiliary pump station and don't take any minor forks. After approx. 2 miles you will see wires high in the sky crossing the road ===> You're there!!!! ![]() The parking lot is on the left under the wires. Geeks- 35* 44' 38.56" N 106* 5' 26.39" W |

Four bikes left from my house this morning (well, three, plus one that passed through). I wish I was on my way too.
Have fun!

I won't have time to make a pie this year. I did, however, bring back a bottle of that delicious handcrafted rum from Silverton, which will have to suffice. |

A work in progress

Anne won't be there.
I would much rather have ridden down with Osprey, GreyWolf and company than being at work. Y'all have fun. And behave. (Yeah, right....)
