Minneapolis to Ushuaia...and back again Fall 2012

Who's going down this year? I am aiming for takeoff November or mid/late October, 14-20 days through Mexico and CA, boatin it to Cartagena (Stahlratte full up yet?), then top it off with an Antarctica cruise in early 2013. I'm trying to convince my cousin to come but he's iffy on getting the time off. Employed people... Toss me a line if you're thinking what I'm thinking, or maybe bump into you on the road (metaphorically).

I am heading that general way this fall (hopefully), but I am not sure how far yet or on exact dates. Of course, I am leaving from Denver instead.

Trying to pull this off!

I really want to do this trip this fall/winter. Working now to figure out the details, funding, etc. I'm near Albuquerque, so I'm basically on your way! Hope to see some of you out there!

As you get more details figured out, keep updating and more people might find common places to ride for part of the way. I think that is the most fun way to travel (but it does not always seem to work out).

I'm hoping to cross into Mexico about the middle of August, I don't think I'll be travelling that fast so there's a good chance we'll be in the same areas sometime.

Cheers Philip

My cousin may join me for Mexico and Central America and he lives in Denver, but he's a big maybe. We would meet in San Antonio and cross the border in Nuevo Laredo. I'll keep posting as I nail things down

Keep things updated.

I will probably cross down at Columbus, NM in Ghostrider's neck of the woods.

I know I have heard about some Christmas celebrations. Maybe it lasts all week..

Either way, I am not sure I am going to make it all the way there by then, but I plan on heading that way.

The more I read about people heading south of the border the more interested I am in joining along. What kind of time frame do people normally spend on trips like this?

I had always been hesitant to ride down into Mexico and CA alone, but I think i would feel a lot more comfortable riding it the first time with another person or people.
