we are talking DR riders so a 'word to the wise' is an irrelevancy (sp?)

Sorry to go off-topic but: Does anyone know what the new learner bike rules will be? As in what bikes will be eligible? Any chance that you could restrict a bike for learner use?

LTSA site still says 250cc maximun capacity for learners, the new licence rules seem to be more centred around age and rider skills with harder tests but couldn't see anything relating to changes to bike elibibilty from 250cc

Check out what bikes are allowed over in Oz. I'm pretty sure an old airhead would just about fit in the hp/weight ratio.

Well this ones on P plates, with an R65 engine. The question is - would the frame need to be registered as such or could you just bung the engine in an R100 frame for example?

Ahhhhhhh NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Not the orange thing again- My eyes are vomiting in their sockets

I would think that the bike would have to come from the factory like it or documented somehow I guess? Have you searched for a list of bikes? There are heaps of anorak wearers in the bike grumblings/ Acc levies forums on KB that would be a better place.

Besides which we are using too many words.

Done

What you don't want to hear about someone nearly getting knocked off their bike today & that acc levies are unfair? What kind of biker are you?

evidently an HP2 would be ok if you tie one arm behind your back.
