speaking of bird kills - back when I was 20 odd I worked briefly on a farm in Lumsden and a goose decided to have a go at me as I rode by on my 73 Kwaka (good taste even then) 250 f11. Somehow its neck went under the front wheel and broke leaving a very unhappy goose. I headed into the adjacent farmhouse and the farmers wife was all pissed off as though it was my fault and wanted me to go and chop its head off to put it out of its misery. Being of a tender disposition I said ferk that and left her to go and find the axe herself.

a wood pigeon smashed my handguard to smithereens, and once found a dead sparrow hanging out the vents in my tank.

Keeping in theme with the on topic - off topic chat thread... in the whole time I have been riding bikes I have done a pretty good job of avoiding hitting birds while riding (A constant battle on the Coast with Pukekos and Wekas everywhere). My last ride changed all that and I hit two birds in one day, what's the bloody odds of that?!? One was a Pukeko that flew up from the side of the road into my bars, at 100km it is an experience and a half, an adult Pukeko is a fairly sizable bird.
Heya Josh

Nice vid too, we have a stack of vid now and are looking to do the same sorta of thing with our footage, we only have imovie and need to learn how to use it.

I hit a bird in Catlins on my 990 SMR at around 120 - 130 k and it hit me right between the boobs .... the little bugger took the wind outa me and I had to stop to get my breat back

Good to see you fellas are all good, when I return home I am going to do a DRZ 400 build with Safari tank etc, no as flash as yours tho, will sell the DR650 that is patiently waiting in our shed.

Hi Andi. I’ve been following your other thread but always seem to be about 20pages behind. Awesome write up and photos. Good stuff.

A couple of years back while out on the Beemer in the Uruti Valley I just stayed upright after avoiding 2 lambs jumping off a bank in front of me. I ended up in the water table at about 80kmh. After getting the heartrate back down I went about another 5km and a Pukeko took off, swung right instead of left and hit me in the shoulder and helmet
I spent the rest of the day wondering what #3 was guna be.

Ahhh sorry mate, I thought you were just a short arse like me, I didn't realise you qualify for hobbit status.

What you are looking for then is the SIDI Adventure Rain Boots (Hobbit Model)

On a serious note, the Forma boots have a moulded sole and somewhere I heard you can't do anything with them?

Truth in this?

Also, how is the standover height on the 4 hundy? ... I am 30 inch inseam on a good day

Forma should have replacement soles.
A* does for their molded ones.

The stock DRZ seat is at about 36-37 inches unloaded.
They do sag a bit, but don't we all.

Tall bugger. I’m only about 27 in the inseam department. I make up for it with belly.

I managed a DRZ OK for a few years. You can do the dogbone to lower it. I just wound the spring off a bit.

You know I'm selling my one with a Safari tank, case savers etc? You may not need to do much with it - maybe change the plastics to suzuki colours?

It's green and one old lady owner. Never been fallen off, only driven to church on Sundays.
Carb needs re-gasketing but that's about it.
I'd buy it if someone gave me too much for the TT.
