Having a support truck makes it nice, gas at Dewey bridge, then clothes and stuff when you get to Moab. A good support truck driver will also cook up some chow at Dewey Bridge, a sloppy cheeseburger taste really good about the time you get to the bridge.

We had the support truck meet us on sand flats road and pick up the non-tagged bikes for transport into Moab, it worked out well, unless of course you're the guy in the truck.

I've also done the big backpack thing, carried everything from clothes to extra gas, not a bad option and more of a true adventure.

Yes, at the least, sgtMarty's much, much better half will drive a vehicle from Fruita (where we are spending Thursday night) on to Moab.....and maybe a mid-point to offer some gas to those with little tanks.

So yeah, I think that laurieD can haul some gear for you.....but ask the Sarge.

You would have a lot more fun on your 400.

Once again....there will be a rig....but I don't know how much room they have.

I am deliberately packing my stuff on my bike....to test it for longer adventures down the road....ie. the CAM1000.

Carpooling

If anyone else would like to hop in with Dave and I coming from C. Springs and has a trailer I would have room for more. Wouldn't mind having another body or two to split fuel costs. We are planning on putting two bikes in the bed of the truck so let me know if you're interested. Really looking forward to this ride!!

I have a three-rail trailer and so far it's just me. I'd be happy to carpool and split fuel costs if we could figure out a place to meet and leave a vehicle - mine or yours. I'm coming from Lyons/Boulder.

That'd be great! I personally don't know of anyplace to leave a vehicle though... anyone know someone who wouldn't mind keeping a eye on a truck for a couple days along the route?

I think my plans may be changing in that I may be able to leave on Thursday morning rather than early evening. This is going to be dependent upon the doc who will be covering my practice. Regardless I am bringing my big truck with a trailer and if Laurie would like to use this for the shuttle it can carry everyone's gear plus gas for the fuel stop at Dewey.

Hey everyone.....Please remember that the campground where we are staying on Thursday night in Fruita....offers secure parking for $3 a day. I am leaving my Pickup and Trailer there.....until I return for it on Sunday afternoon.

If you are interested in a cabin bed on Thursday night, you need to PM.....Mac. Also reach out to Mac if you want to park your rig or tent camp.

I have reservations for tent camping at Ron's in Moab for Friday and Saturday night. I currently have two campground spots, but can easily expand to 3 or 4 if everyone is staying with us. For the bill, we will just divide the total by the number of people. It should be very cheap....about $10-$15 a person, for both nights.

Forgot to add from my previous post that if I can get away on Thursday morning I have room for two bikes and passengers for a possible carpool. Vehicles can be left at my house unless there is impending snow that weekend then they can not be left on the road. However if all of the snow from the last 4' storm is melted on the side of the road we can park there but if a storm blows in the plow will cover them up.

Hey Mac.....Can you negotiate one more little thing with that Fruita campground?????

When we roll in on Sunday, can we get a quick shower before we hit the road for a 6 hour drive? It would be nice to hose off the dirt and sweat.

Tell them we will bring our own towels...for a free shower.
