Rgh

This is the worst of it. (this was taken in Oct '11)

This is a cap from a vid so it's not very good but you can see the ledges, there's about 6 of them ranging from 12" to about 30", distance between them is anywhere from 3' to 10'. The approaches are covered in babyheads and soft sand where the jeeps have chewed it up, typical Moab. There's a few lines that will get you up but its going to be tough on a heavy bike and will definitely requires a good game The whole hill is a series of babyheads so line discipline is a challenge.

Going down was fun! Good part is a retrieval vehicle can make it in fairly close to this point without too much difficulty.

This Vid shows some of what you'll be hitting between Dewey through RG Hill, it's a great ride.
2:13 - between TOTW and Rosegarden Hill
3:30 - Rosegarden Hill
4:09 - 5:40 TOTW

Thanks, if you decide to skip RGH on your way back you'll get to ride Onion Creek, I consider that a plus, it's a beautiful area with multiple stream crossings followed by a 12mi. scenic ride along the river. Well worth it. Wish I was going along.

Yeah, aren't they f'ing lovely. On the way back, you get to soak your tires in water seconds before climbing slick steel rails.

Why that singletrack had to be transformed into 2 track is simply beyond me.

Great suggestion and this will be the plan if we backtrack.

For now our thought is to loop around.....maybe through Gateway and up Sheep Creek. (If there is no snow.)

Guys, the more I think about it....I am leaning to, two nights at Ron's Camp. Our Saturday rides can be diverse. We could break up into two or three ride groups, depending upon what people want to ride. Also, there is something nice about setting up camp for two nights....and having a day to ride without being loaded down.

Mac, Terry and I will probably explore further out west....maybe a 200 mile loop, just running the desert and canyons.

My son Bryce will want to ride rocks and single track on his 426.

Remember, too, that we will have the Tahoe and trailer for people to put their gear into. I'll have some tools, too.

I have several small (2-3 gallon) gas cans that I will take along. If someone has larger fuel cans, we can put those on the trailer for gassing up at Dewey Bridge and at camp.

Are you guys being dropped off at Mack and somebody driving to Moab to meet you? If so, if I don't have a 650 by then maybe I could throw some gear in the car and bring my 400??

Does this mean one would not have to carry their camp gear on the bike -- it could go with you? This might make it possible for me to participate
