It's a '74 Red, I agree about the simplicity of old bikes, glad you agree.
Fun, cheap, and easy to work on, I call it good.

Ahh good to see a few of me old mates posting on here...

Here are some of mine...

My 85 F1, full restore from frame up, almost a runner now, just needs the full fairing painted... Mostly standard but R6 shock and PWK28s.

My LC... just needs carbs and it will be a runner... almost done! Athena 421, Wicked pipes, RGV front and rear ends... many many mods...

My RZ350

Still a work in progress, but so far, I've got an R1 front end, R6 rear shock, R6 radiator, FZ600 swing arm, RG500 rear cush drive on a SV650 rear rim. Once I get my shop built, I hope to finish this up. And yes, I still have the title, so it will be street legal!! I've ridden it around the parking lot and it's a hoot!

FYI, the RZ/RD 350/500 forum is an awesome resource if you haven't checked it out already.

sweet.

how exactly does that rear seat work w/ a passenger?

i see rear pegs but figure you can't actually bring one or they would be forced forward into you and your hand on the bar the whole time. did that bike have a queen seat and you put a flat on it?

i'm sure you just ride solo any. why not just remove the rear pegs?

You are right that I dont take a passenger unless there is a good reason, but the fact that i can is useful. The rear pegs are there for that but also cos the old Raasks have the mount and it looks strange to have the mount and no pegs. The seat is a Guliari aftermarket, they are really quite rare now, this one was nos and i changed the colour from white to black with a new cover. Some people love those seats, some dont... The standard seat (and pegs) is as shown on the previous post with the black bike. I still have my OEM seat and fitting it is a simple turn of the key and two levers to press, push other seat on and its clips into place... simple :)

I had the same bike new, for one year... Car ran a red light in front of me. I was doing 50mph. Only the back tire and engine remained outside. I launched over the roof and walked away with a scratch on my ankle.
I loved that bike... It was my first water-cooled RD.
Keep it naked whatever you do!
