I think georgia and alabama choose either the chubbiest or tallest guys to be moto officers. Sometimes even the rare combination of the two.

Along time ago, I lived in a small rural community (which I won't name to avoid embrassing the community concerned) where if the criminals wanted to escape a police pursit, they simply had to abandon their vehicle and run cross county. The police officers would be done after 25-30 yards. I don't know if that's changed over the years though.
