Can I wear a cape during the race or is that not allowed? just figured I'd ask.

Are those handed out once we get there, or do we need to go ahead and take care of the decals ourselves? Sorry so many noob questions folks.

You'll get your numbers at registration. They're 4x6, and a smaller one for the front. The first set each season is free, if you need a second set, $20.

Then it's settled, I'll have my mom start sewing it now. I'll have to get creative. I'm thinking a little short one that will look completely ridiculous flapping in the wind. Then if my time sucks I can blame it on the extra drag.

Anybody have a pic of JJ with his pinwheels at sandblast? We might have some sort of dynamic duo between JJ and PJM.

Only downside to the cape idea is it will draw attention to my crappy riding skills haha.

I am totally new to rally racing, so excuse the noobie question. How many total stages are there? And do all the stages begin from the same spot?

I am thinking of entering with my F800GS. My off road racing experience is very limited....I did the Stump Jumper hare scramble with the F8GS 2 weeks ago and was the Sandy Lane enduro with my crf250r last month.

Thanks for all the great info I have already gathered reading the posts.

Nice thing about nasa rallysport is they have a good intro course for new competitors which will help you understand stuff like this. The stages start in different locations and you have transits between stages as well as between the service area and the stages. The transits are an important part of the competition as you have a target time you must check in on (penalties for being early or late however late is ALWAYS better than early on the transits). Usually there are around 6 or 8 stages.

Another nice thing is you can usually just ask other competitors when you have a question. We are all pretty helpful. Usually before a check-in everybody will ask others to double check their math to make sure they check in on the right minute. It is helpful to know who started the previous stage one minute before you, assuming he is right then you check into the next one a minute after him. Just be careful because he might be confused also, so good to check with more than one guy if you can.
