Santa Clara del Cobe

Isn't it great to wake up and see this , first thing after openeing your door ???

Yesterday we took a short ride from Patzcuaro out to Santa Clara del Cobre

Santa Clara is the copper processing cpital of Mexico . Copper is still being worked , the same way like they did it centuries ago , the profession lives on and goes from generation to generation . Everything is done by hand without any kind of powertools, machines etc.
We went to the Museo del Cobre where we got a demonstration of how they do it .

They pull the hot,red and soft copper out of the fire, put it on a trunk and then several man start hitting it with big hammers in order to make it thinner and bigger

Yesterday we arrived in Guanajuato....WOW.....

But here still a few pictures from Patzcuaro,Pueblo Magico , and the hotel where we stayed there http://www.mesondesanantonio.com/ , really bikerfriendly and willing to give special preices to bikers.

This was the kitchen that the guests can use ; it was amazing to cook in a kitchen like this ...

The old farmhouse has a great garden and a lot of interesting details

This comfortable,antique rocking chairs

But what I liked most , are all the old copper lamps , handmade in Santa Clara del Cobre

Patzcuaro is a nice, small town . It has lots of hotels , but no tourists .... I don't know how to explain it , but there was a strange vib in this town....But we enjoyed it anyway , lot of walking around , great street food, nice architecture

Narrow streets

Antique bathrooms

Nice toys

Great sunsets

Bavaria in Michoacan

On the other side of Lake Patzcuaro there is a german owned bavarian restaurant with many typical bavarian dishes ,fresh trouts, great pastery (that I'm not allowed to eat)
Nice place, great food

Guanajuato

Guanajuato is …diferent , reminded me a lot of the small Mediterranean villages in Italy , it’s a one of a kind

And a typical tourist pic is mandatory in a place like this

Had never seen a Vespa with sidecar before
