Parral
We made it to Hidalgo de Parral today, most boring ride ever!!!
Between Torreon and Jimenez we had a 90 km long stretch without a single turn and with not more then 3 cars on the road. Parral itself is not much better... But the ride tomorrow to Copper Canyon should more then compensate for today... No pics today, I did not even bother to unpack my in the hotel lobby parked bike.

After 2 days out in the Barrancas , this afternoon we arrived in Creel and we have wifi again. I have tons of pics from the ast days ... a few
should help me sort them out and post a few of them But first , back to our short stay in Hidalgo de Parral After leaving Parras it got boring pretty soon , just plain, flat and boring ; after Torreon it got even worse. Since it was so boring , I rode much faster then I usually do . The bike didn’t mind , just used much more gas then it normally does . So when we fin ally reached a gas station , I had so much gas left . ![]() Hidalgo de Parral is famous for its place in the Mexican Revoluition and for being the town , where Pancho Villa got killed. ![]() Besides Pancho and the Mina Prieta ![]() There is not much else to see or do ![]() ![]() And of course we got indoor parking again

Parral - Copper Canyon
The ride from Parral to Divisadero, Barrancas was a completlely different ball game then the one from the day before .
We left early in the morning ![]() ![]() And as soon as we got out of town , the scenery changed and became really nice ![]() ![]() Great mountain road , good pavement, no traffic at all and it got pretty cold(46°F) as we started climbing up the mountains; I loved it , but I new that my wife was not happy at all with this nice temperature . ![]() After 2,5 hours we got to Guachochi , were we got a great breakfat and a lot of hot coffe at this place ![]() ![]() After breakfast and being watched all the time by this friendly looking fellow , we were ready to continue ![]() And the road and views kept on getting better and better ![]() ![]() ![]() Then we came to the crossroad down to Batopilas ; it was kind of late to go down and back up again the same day, but being there already,I wanted to see how it was . ![]() No traffic at all besides these fellows ![]() After 25 km the pavement ended ![]() We kept on going for a little while but being kind of late and getting increasing pressure from the backseat , we decided to turn around and head for our destination of this day, Divisadero , Barrancas del Cobre. ![]() ![]() ![]() The ride to Divisadero was nice , but the turning around so close before Batopilas stuck in my head all the time… ![]() ![]() ![]()

The first sunrise in Copper Canyon
I got up before 6-00 am and I walked to La Meseta , the highest viewpoint in Copper Canyon . It was cold as hell, pretty close to freezing point . But the hike uphil took care of this . I got up there in time before the sun did
And then the show begun..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
